How much oil in the blue arb locker line is normal? This is how much that came out while hung up after I blew it out with the air compressor. Hung up for a week.

 

From what I understand oil isn't unusual, BUT you do need to see if will hold pressure. get it set up and engage the locker and see if can sit for 15min or longer before the compressor cycles again. if not then this could be an issue.

Keep in mind, the diff breathers on the Toyotas are designed to keep a certain amount of POSITIVE pressure on the axle housing, this keeps the axle and pinion seals tight so they don't suck in water. Even the non locked axles will relieve a certain amount of pressure when removed or the diff plug is pulled (listen close, you may hear some air movement.

this pressure can push oil into the air lines on the ARB, the seals on the ARB are Orings, not lip seals, Orings can/will allow oil to pass over time

 

It will be a lot longer than 15 mins with my setup, tank to adjustable regulator. The system holds pressure for a loooong time. I think I remember 5 lbs drop in like an hour or more..

 

pull the breather and install a gauge for a short time ( non driving ) see if any pressure builds up in the axle, that will tell you if you have enough of a leak to worry about. the heating/cooling cycle is what builds pressure with just the breather vent, any real pressure while just sitting there unused would maybe indicate you have a seal issue
