I'm good with that Duncan. I usually visit my grandma right after work on Monday so it would work out.

Anyone know how well a set of stock 2nd gen springs work on a first gen? I have a friend with a '02 but not much to spend.

If they are too long you would never flex them enough to gets the bolts in. Arch and steel strength makes more lift.

Are we both talking about the front, coil springs? I think I might not have been clear...

haha I was thinking leafs. Assumed that because leafs are usually the springs that fail on Tacomas, 1st and 2nd gen.

I dont know about coils. You'd think someone on here would have tried using one on the other. Only one way to find out, pull the shock/spring off and compare diameters, lengths, etc.

I should know better, just say leafs or coils.

Mike is looking for about an inch of lift in front, can't spend much money, and I have my stock coils taking up space in the trunk of the Corolla. Seems hard to find info on the stock spring lengths, I guess there is just so much more interest in aftermarket.

Speaking of faulty leaf springs though, I got a letter today informing me of the recall on my leaf packs. It says that they are still producing the stock but if mine were to break they would be repaired free of charge. I wonder if I could buy a replacement set of say Dakars, and get reimbursed?

I doubt it. They may compensate though. Mine are both broken, I'm going to call Toyota and see what they'll do
