    Just so you are informed, MD is not one of the states that mandates the use of E10. The gas stations sale it because it's cheaper and we still buy it.

    Nearly every state has banned MTBE. The EPA requires oxygenated fuel in 39 major metro areas. Ethanol is a cheap replacement for MTBE. Only a few states specifically require ethanol. The Feds have a law that will phase in more and more ethanol over the years.

    There are still places around that you can get ethanol free gas, but it's stupidly expensive.
