It flips up towards the back of the gun. Should it be flipping towards the barrel? Exhibit A of why I'm on here asking questions.

I own quite a few guns and hunt regularly, but this is the first AR I've ever had so excuse the ignorance. I appreciate the help.

Speaking of hunting, do you guys use your ARs hunt with? I've heard the .223 is acceptable for hogs, but frowned upon for deer. Besides target shooting, what is the "other use" for your weapon?

They blow up prairie dogs and coyotes real nice. With the right bullet (think Barnes Vor-TX) they will drop a deer just fine. Not legal in all states though - check local laws.

I hunt deer pigs and coyotes with ARs all the time. Granted I use 6.8s for deer and pig. I've watched a lot of pigs shot with 5.56 just requiring more shots on them to put them down. They are tough creatures.

Was running this 6.8 rifle but with night vision that night. That's just a few of the pigs we killed.

I believe he usually hunts at the wild river ranch in Texas, and I see a suppressor so probably not Cali.

I tend to remember what I read and I follow IWT on social media.....

Also I'm jealous of the hunts and the firearms.

got a question for anyone with a spikes tactical complete lower. Is the enhanced lpk worth the $100 more versus the standard lpk? or would you guys rather go standard and just upgrade the trigger at a later point. Heres a link to the enhanced kit http://www.spikestactical.com/installedspikes-enhanced-parts-kit-orders-wlowers-only-p-456.html .

Im still just researching lowers, if anyone wants to chime in on a good complete lower that they've used please let me know. still pricing everything up, Im looking at pairing it with a BCM upper.
