Help finding my old truck

Oddly enough, I ran that VIN and got "no hit" on it. I've never had a valid VIN come back without info.

 

Is that still a thing?

Maybe someone in law enforcement in NY is on here and can run the vin. Not sure of the legality of searching random vins and giving addresses out on the internet but its worth a shot!

 

If some were to run it and release the information to anyone on the internet and DOJ found out, it would result in a huge penalty or even removal of the departments CLETs certification and terminals.

 

So possible; yes. Legal; no. See I was sort of right!

 

@aw10tacoma Hey just wanted to tell you that I even looked up your vin with Toyota's Data base online. All I can see is if the truck was taken to any toyota dealership for servicing or repairs and nothing came up on your truck.. Sorry sir!! I tried on my end of things

 

Thanks guys I appreciate the help. I can only take a chance on my days off driving around up there or hoping someone on here spots it. I wish I still had the old guys contact info that maybe he would of known the new owners. This sucks lol

 

And atleast it's somewhere close and not shipped to Iraq with Isis using it lol and worse comes it's all shitted up but I'd refurbish it in a heart beat

 

And I'm not to happy with the idea that the truck hasn't been inspected since 12 maybe it got junked?

 

Contact your cell provider, they can print out your entire call history. Give them the rough date, month you talked to the buyer. We do this all the time when we get warrants for phone records.

 

that in fact hit me about 10 min after i posted that... when i realized that only 2 people on our road still get the paper and the online classified's are pretty obscure... so pry not that great of an idea

Post an ad on Craig's list offering reward for location of said truck. (Craig's list is still a thing.)

I need to try and find a picture lol but the ad isn't a bad idea that would definitely help... I'm going to go up there this week and drive around looking for used car lots junk yard etc... To see if I can maybe spot it

Well after driving around for about 3 hours going to all the used car lots seeing if they had it and maybe sold it.. No luck then went to the local Toyota and they thought they had it a year ago about the vin didn't match... A sales man told me he had a large group of people that buy and sell the trucks over seas in the area and with that being said I would think to but two and two together with the rolling of the miles back on the car fax report so I might be S.O.L. Then today checking Google stumbled upon this but no match to the vin looked just like it
