What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

I went and took a look at what I did, I some how managed to break or bend the pin holding the wire to the brake, if that's how you explain it. Looks like I'm gonna need to replace the pin and maybe the thing on the end of the wire. Just happy it's not worse..... All of this because I forgot to bungee my chains to keep them tight.

 

I ran my truck for 2 years without the parking brake, only attached it when it was time for inspection.

 

I'm not too worried about it. Just don't like breaking things...

 

Looks a lot like @45acp 's.... except with a lot less holes.

Yeah I know! I was shocked! I mean it's a rebuilt motor but its a super clean and straight truck!

Going to be ordering new cv's and while I have it all apart I was wondering if there is anything else I should do/replace.

That is a cool tool that will help you remove the lower tensioner pulley. If he decides to replace the actual hydraulic tensioner, which is the device that presses up against that pulley, he will need to remove the A/C compressor bracket.
This is what the hydraulic tensioner looks like, this is my old one that I replaced:

 

Love the old Toyota pickups! I miss my '87... The old 22R engines were rock solid!

 

Wheel bearings are the only other things I can think of.

Me too! And they sell turbo kits for them...

 

Should have kept mine... I blew the head gasket and warped the head... I sold it as a parts truck and bought the one I have now...

 

If I get a chance this afternoon and it isn't raining I will bring the truck into the garage and install the new Radiator. At 73 I thought I was all done with this stuff, shouldn't take too long and I have all the tools just need to stop and get Coolant on the way home from a Memorial service for church member. Next weekend it will be Valve Cover Gasket and new plugs and wires. Then when the Tax refund gets here new tire to put on the 17" rim bought last weekend. Then start the cosmetic stuff.
