2016 TACOMA TRD SPORT REAR AXLE LEAKING

anyone have a leak issue with the 16 Tacos?

its leaking in the middle where the ball is at on the rear axle. its brand new 3000k miles and 3rd time i bring it in for some b.s

1st time it was CEL for p0598, they fixed it twice, drove a pos car rental for few days.
now this.

any info on the problem from any of you 16 owners? will update once i bring it in on my day off. smh.

out of curosity, whats your build date, and does your vin start with a 3 or a 5?

 

take it back...keep track of days at dealership too prepare your lemon law case..you never know

 

Exactly, take it back. That's what the warranty is for. Sure it's annoying, but what can you do about it?

 

Take that turd back and tell em you want your money back

 

Make sure that the tech/service that's logging your comments logs them exactly as you say them. Also, for each time you bring your truck in, make sure to comment how many other time and for what problems you've brought it in for.

In case it's a lemon this will show history.

 

I'd also take pictures and document issues that you see. TRD Sport here, no obvious issues with leaking yet, but will crawl under and take a peek this weekend. (Granted, I'm only at ~600 miles on the odo)

Build date. Don't know. Starts with a 3

 

The build date should be on the edge of the drivers side door.

 

I forgot to look at the date but here's some pictures of it.

 

It came from Canada plant 0040/15 I'm assuming week 40, 2015
Oct 2015, I got the truck October 25, 2015

 

Pinion seal leak. I hope they add in a new 3rd member. Pay close attention to gear whine after it's repaired. Most likely the seal was defective or damaged during assembly, unless front front pinion bearing is toast which would make a good deal of noise/whine/howling.

 

There is no Canada plant. Your truck was built in Mexico.

 

Your right about the Canada plant. Wrong on Mexico. It's near the border. Otay Mesa, CA.

I thought the capital CA meant Canada.

There are no Tacomas are currently built in California. There's a plant in San Antonio, TX (TMMTX) and a plant in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico (TMMBC).

 

I don't have a 13. It's 16. It clearly say Otay Mesa, CA. Look on a map

Otay Mesa is the port of entry, TMMBC is the plant. If it help you come to grips with the reality of where your truck was made, please show me where the Otay Mesa "plant" is on this list of Toyota manufacturing facilities.
