adding to my stock width theory I will use or attempt to use a lower shock mount from and older Toyota pickup and weld a top mount [IMG] this is a older pickup set up you can see that the shocks are reversed from a Tacoma so I should be able to use the right lower mount with no modifications and still be a Toyota part[IMG]heres a stock Tacoma yet again not my pics just googling pictures to get an idea

Currently have 5100s in the rear with a 1.5 progressive AAL and the overload leaf in. I provided me 2in of lift. Was wondering if I relocated the shocks to l l in the way that boxrocket did, will it provide more travel or do you guys think that the stock leaf pack and AAL has already reached its max droop?

you would need a different leaf pack either order one or build one with some good chevy springs its much cheaper that way

You can do a shock relocation with an AAL but can't run a 12" travel shock. Probably max would be a 10", not worth it to relocate if you aren't going to get a new leaf pack

I see. Yea eventually I would be getting a new pack. But was just thinking of maybe relocating and running the regular 5100s for time being. Then maybe move up to all pro standard leaf pack in the future.

5100's you have now? They are different upper shock mounts between OEM versus relocation

Yea. 5100. I was looking at purchasing either the trail gear or all pro u bolt flip and all pro shock mounts.

10", mounted it at full stuff and just drooped it out from there. Solo designed this kit around the Deaver J59, or seems to have, as the spring runs out of droop 1/3" before the shock does.

Those mounts are so clean, but the do defiantly limit how long of stock you can put in there. I got a 13" with mine.

Do the tires not rub the shock body when you stuff them up into the wheel wells?

Mine hit when at full stuff. His do look tucked closer to the frame. But is that a 2.5" shock? Look pretty big.

They're 2.5's. No rubbing that I can tell. The 3.5" backspace seems to do the trick.

What difference does a u-bolt flip make?
