    I know.

I'm assuming that's like a gif of Data about to blow his load, anyway. If so, read my first sentence again.

Those would help you get those gray whiskers out of that unsightly mole on your schnoz, too.

    OK, shit just got real.

I just may be able to install my Redline hoodstruts this weekend. I think they are finally garage-conditioned after 5 months.

If the planets align, I may even be able to do the 7-pin relocate or even the rear diff breather.

But a man's gotta know his limitations.

You really should keep this stuff to yourself, at least until the project is underway. I'm just sayin' ...

We have a standing agreement. We each get a half day off duty. Of course, that "off duty" has often meant just doing fucking chores that have been neglected.

But weather is good, all three of us are done being sick for a few weeks, not leaving town, wife's desk is assembled, out of the garage, and in place, and I've been clearing all sort of overflow life and baby junk out of the garage over several weeks (went ballistic on Craigslist 2 weekends ago).

I think I'll pick the afternoon so it is warmer. And tonight I will go out in the garage and organize prep stuff so I can hit the ground running when the timer starts tomorrow.

    And a win.

    Got the Redlines installed...

Their instructions are horrid, and the placement (and design) of the brackets could be significantly improved, but just like the last set I put on the 01, they work great. I found the hood of the 2nd gen alarmingly heavy compared to the 1st gen, so it makes this mod even better for a 2nd gen.

And I poked around on the 7-pin relocate, and decided I had enough time to dive in. Figured out the weird connector and pulled out the 7-pin pigtail to modify the back side to fit in the driver side license plate light hole. My shit bin was just short one stainless nylock nut of the right size to finish drilling and install, so I'll go get one of those tomorrow morning and knock it out (I hope).

The Redlines are my favorite Mod. When installing the fender brackets I had to tap in the inner face of the fender with a ball - peen hammer so the bracket fit good and tight. Also it looks like you used stainless mounting hardware on the bracket. Good idea! Nice Work!!

Well that was a good idea. Yes, the bulge on the back of the bracket is one of the things that affects fitment. I didn't think of doing that. And the sheet metal is so flimsy, I'm sure it was easy and effective. But the clearance from the upper edge of the fender above is already so tight with the shoulders of the provided screws, it seems like dimpling the sheetmetal to get the bracket even tighter against the inner fender wall would make it even tougher to get the screws in straight. Seems the best way would be to get a similar self-tapper without the integrated flange/washer, and use a separate washer to that head clearance is not an issue.

    But this was a get-it-done-right-now task.:bananadead:

I did not use stainless anything. Those were the provided self-tapping screws. I think the paint rubbed off the heads a bit, making it looks like that.
