    Today I finished up the wrap around on my rear bumper. Debating on tying it back to the frame. Painted the rear bumper and sliders and re plasti dipped my stripes and plasti dipped my faded fender flares

    I've identified a slow leak at the connection between one of my front brake lines and the hard line. A friend of mine suggested wrapping plumber's tape around the thread before tightening. Thoughts?

    I've used that very thin teflon (PTFE) tape around air fittings with sucess. Is that what you are calling plumbers tape? It might be worth a try. Doubt if you'll hurt anything.

    Installed my poly steering rack bushings today! Old bushings came out suprisingly easy!

    Cut a strip of tape and put brake fluid on it. I feel like the fluid would eat through it.

    SO my truck was doing some weird shit just a minute ago.. I was cruisin up a nice grade of a hill about 50mph and it suddenly lurched like the power band was rising and it was like it hit a brick wall for a split second. I just kept flooring it because thats what i have to do to climb hills in my overweight 4 cylinder, but she did it like 2 or 3 more times while going up that hill. I've never felt anything like this before with an engine..but we replaced the valve cover gasket this morning and did a compression test while we were at it and my numbers were fine. But on the way down that same hill after I turned around at the top my brakes were super shaky and stammering. My brakes are fine far as i know. any thoughts guys?

    Some lift, some armor, some scratches..
    Nice truck. I would highly recommend tying those wrap arounds back to the frame. If you fall off a ledge onto some rocks it will surely crush your rear bedside. My All Pro bumper has taken a few very hard drops on the wrap arounds and even with the support they have deflected/bent some. Without the support I would have seen some bad body damage

    Reserected from the dead.

    You will need to use the yellow Teflon tape. It is resistant to breakdown. The white tape won't work.

    OME 883 front, OMD 3.5" rear, Relentless front bumper, smittybilt 9.5K winch
    Got most of the way through my timing belt job, replaced the hydraulic tensioner, idler pulley, water pump, and all the good stuff, put the new timing belt on and the camshafts were 1 tooth off of the crank.
    While my helper was trying to get the belt off to correct the time he managed to break a tooth off of the crank pulley gear so hopefully I'll get it finished up Tuesday.

    Yeah I know it would definitely be better tied back to the frame but I want to still be able to unbolt the bumper if I need to. So I'll have to figure out how I'll do that

    How did he manage to do that?

    I started my water pump t-belt replacement around 1pm and didn't finish up until 1am... Repairs like this can take a while for reasons you run into as well as others....

    The belt was tight going on and so of course it was tight to get off, he was prying it off with a screwdriver and caught a tooth that the crank sensor picks up, gonna go to the dealer on monday but I'm also gonna drop the broken part off with my teacher for last semester and see if he can TIG weld a tooth back.
