Yeah that lettering wears off quickly.

I always like to share this story about a DRZ. Where I live in TN is very close to HWY 129, or the Dragon, as most know it. I was up there one day on my knobbies riding some trails and we were stopped at an overlook and bunch of folks on hard-core naked bikes come rolling up and stop at the same place. Dude in the back was on a DRZ SM full leathers and all. We talked to them for a little bit and then they all pulled off. Guy on the DRZ was in the back of their pack but rode off as far as I could see on the back wheel right behind them. So cool.

These DRZs are wheelie machines. Didn't take me long to figure it out. Now i can ride one from the bottom of second to the top of fourth. Just need to learn rear brake control and how to keep my speeds down. I spend too much time chasing the front wheel to keep it up.

I got a chance to ride one. Pretty cool. A bit squirrely on hardpack trails, challenging to get back onto in powder, but the four stroke power, and with a clutch kit that allows you to shift or idle without using the clutch control makes for easy control at limited throttle. But if you ever break down in the field, they are a bitch to tow out, and extra fuel can is a necessity.

The advantage is you can still ride the motorbike in the off-snow season. The system is convertible, remove the track and ski, put the wheels back on.
Costs are comparable, around $14,000 new motorbike + Timbersled; the Timbersled attachment is about $7,000.
$14,000 will also get you into a decent new mountain snowmobile.

I don't want to subject my road bike to that.

If i had an actual dirt bike, that'd be different. But i don't get enough snow regularly for it to ever be worth it.

yup, most conversions are done on offroad bikes. Abuse probably less in the winter.

For those guys that live in areas where there are more Winter months than Summer it would be awesome though.

Do they make any blade type attachment for the front skid for the harder packed stuff, spikes for more icy stuff on track?

Hammerhead Designs Gold billet aluminum inspection plugs ordered off Amazon for $33. Cheapest i'd seen them anywhere.

Only oil leak on the bike is from the big inspection plug. I don't know why it started leaking. I've only removed it once to turn the motor while installing the MCCT.

These billet aluminum ones have their own rubber o-ring, so they shouldn't leak pretty much ever.
