Thanks again, Jeff! I received mine in the mail a few minutes ago and had everything mounted within 5 minutes. Thanks Palehorse1 for posting this great mod.

So here's my install pix. Used double swivel method to give me lots of clearance. It takes some used to with the phone in your view, but its not that bad. Thanks OP and everyone else for contributing.

Use a nylon spacer to push ball out

I'm 6', and have no issues with the phone in my line of sight using the straight double-socket arm as in the op's install. In fact, my earlier concerns about it being too close to the steering wheel were unfounded. This is exactly what I was looking for. My only issue is with the Ram X-grip mount. My Samsum Galaxy S6 has buttons on both sides that the mount keeps wanting to press against. I have to mount it in precisely the right way in order to keep from pressing the volume buttons on one side or the power button on the other. Once mounted correctly, it stays put though!

I'm 5'6 but i've learned to deal with it sitting in the corner of my windshield lol....In regards to the X-grip mount, my iPhone 6 also has buttons on the side. Its just correct positioning, and once found, getting to the buttons is not a problem. Other than that, the setup is awesome. Maybe one day if i invest in a scanguage, thats where it'll live.

At least you can use your sun visor without it blocking most of the windshield! These Tacomas weren't designed for tall folks.

I'm 6'3". Its still better then a Corolla. When I drove my wife's old car, I would have to stay 50FT from intersection so I could see the traffic light. LOL

Yeah, use the ram mount site to get part numbers to search on ebay or Amazon. Much better pricing

Also remember those bolts aren't going to work. A few pages back someone was giving away the correct size bolts. Maybe he has some left

Yep, need m6. m8 comes with the ball mount. I gave my 6 extras away but another dude had to buy a box of 50 from Fastenal so he should have a bunch left.

Mich. Whats the part # for that double swivel? My sausage like fingers get too close to the wheel with the other mount.
