Heading to Denver now to look at a 4runner for a buddy. It's a 94 with 160k 3.0 v6 manual. Anything to look for? 3.0 are know for head gaskets going out right?

 

How much is he spending?

Stopped to wash my truck on the way home from skiing, hadn't been done in a while... Had two different guys come up and ask about the setup, ended up writing toyteclifts.com and bilstein on the back of two parking stubs. One had a tundra one a Tacoma

 

What? Really? I mean, first gens are superior in every way, with the possible exception of grocery getting.

No, not really. Timmy's 2004 is the truck I'd buy if I bought a first gen though. Super clean, white, double cab, super low miles. It gave me bad ideas but I have no use or money for it.

 

Ban for not buying a 1st gen under false pretenses

 

It does look like a great truck.

 

It's nice. I'd buy it. But then I'd have two trucks that were too pretty to beat up lol

 

Well that was a waste of 5 hours. Guy said it was mechanically sound on the phone. Get there and the first thing about the truck out of his mouth was the power steering didn't work. Not a huge deal. Took it for a short drive and noticed white smoke coming from the exhaust. Probably a bad head gasket. Engine had a pretty noticeable knock to it and was covered in oil underneath. It would have been nice to know all of that before we made the 2 hour drive in terrible conditions. So if anyone sees a black 94 runner on Craigslist for $1500 there is a good start to the problems lol.
