Any plans on having an aluminum version of the bumper?

I'm all for aluminum parts as well, however the steel's added weight helps with traction and balance on a truck. If an aluminum bumper ends up being lighter than a factory setup, I think it would only hurt the truck's performance.

I would agree with above statement. But with a tire carrier and all, it all works out to be the same. With the truck fully loaded with camping and shooting gear things add up really fast! But if it's not in the cards, ways she goes! Haha

Has anyone mounted mud flaps on their HC bumpers? I'd like to see how they solved it.

Ive thought about it, with a rubber flexible mat I think you run a chance of it getting caught in the tire because of the angle. But if you look at the jaos mud flap they use a retention on the back to keep it in place. Could use a smaller cable like the one used on the fold down table for a lower profile look.

Or make a mount halfway back the bumper and attach one their, may look a little off but it will do its job

Another option would be finding a paid of mud flaps at a junk yard that would be comparable in size that you can retrofit and finish off with fiberglass to clean up the look.

I don't have my tools on me but tomorrow I can let you know. When I bought mine I just went to orilleys and test fit a handful of sockets until something fit if you have an auto parts store nearby

Hahah I tightened it down pretty good with a large channel lock pliers and drove down the street to get the right socket and tightened it right then and there. I didn't realize how big that nut would be, def a socket Ill only use a handful of times haha

I wanna say in the range of a 24mm? Can't remember for sure, I'm sure Tyler or Satin will pipe in soon

I used vise grips the last time I had to loosen/tighten

Yup. It's a big one. And I think it would need to be thin. I'll check it out at the parts store tomorrow. It is a long story, but it was put on originally by someone else and I backed it off with some taps from a long screwdriver and a hammer. It was pretty loose.

I was a bit suspicious of how the installer stacked the bearings and washer, etc so I wanted to pull the gate and reinstall.

Have a helping hand when pulling it takes some force to pop off, I had my fiancé take an uppercut swing with a rubber mallet while I held on tight for when it popped off

Do you use a bolt or lug nuts to secure the spare to carrier? Might sound dumb but have never used one so I have no idea
