New dash tweeters,Factory Jbl was a little too weak.Put in some polks.Space is really tight.I had to use vice grips and a socket because a ratchet wouldn't fit.You have to pry up and slightly forward at the portion of the cover closest to you, then the snaps will pop loose to get the cover up. the passenger side is the same but with the exception of a 90 degree angle upward snap that hooks UNDER the pillar post{be careful of that and be very afraid...just kidding. Also use a plastic pry tool so not to scar the dash. These sound awesome.I used the factory mount but you destroy the original tweeter doing it and the factory har harness.FITPERFECTIMG_20160129_123549648_HDR (1).jpg

Might want to post a model number for those who may be interested in this mod. It would make the post more useful.

Wouldn't a wobble socket work fine to get in there?

Ratchet and socket work fine on Passenger side but not left front side.

I also have the JBL system....so these were literally a swap in/plug n play? No extra adapters?

No, I had to cut the wire to the tweeter itself but used an adapter from Metra to go to the Crossover from the factory wiring harness that wasn't cut.

Tweeters are in the dash, one on each side of the windshield, you can remove the vent/speaker trim pull up to reach them. If you are talking about the door speakers, you have to pull the entire door panel.

The tweeters in the older model Tacoma's are located in the door.
