It only gets used in emergency situations. So yeah not easy on the components but for how often it gets used not a real issue. It is also handy for cold mornings to be able to reach in the truck and start it without being in the seat. I assume this is what it gets used for99.9 percent of the time.

I highly suggest getting the Off Road. If you're buying in Hawaii, it seems like a lot of us are getting the paint matched rear bumpers on the off road models, even without adding any tech/premium packages to our trucks. You'll be glad you got the Off Road model. Rear Locker, Better suspension, Nicer wheels (personal preference), better tires and off road vision without the non functioning hood scoop in the way.

Boy have I been using mine wrong. Put park brake on left in Neutral turn heat on , next morning push switch and start it without getting in. Run back to house.

it wont hurt anything using it to warm the truck up in neutral.

it'd be like starting it normal

Would it be too hard on the system to use it for slow towing/pulling someone from a ditch? I could see it being useful in need a slow throttle in the snow on an incline. Not that I couldn't do it but is the system design for such use?

Slow towing and pulling is what 4 low and 1st gear is for. Putting that much stress on the starter, and then the engine right at start up isn't going to be healthy

That was the intent of the system. Just to beat feet outside and warm it up?

The manual says that the purpose is to start the truck when rolling back is not an option. Like if you've slid off the road and rolling back would mean a vehicle loss off a cliff or into a tree.

basically if you stall out on some rocks, and taking your foot of the brake is going to kill you, you can gas with one foot, brake with the other, and restart your truck and motor out.

Fwiw I used the clutch start cancel offroad plenty on my old Toyota pickup with no ill effects. It had 35" tires and stock gearing, it's a nice feature.
