I looked into those kits and from my understanding they will not work on 35's...and that is stupid expensive for some square stock tubing. You could build your own kit like those for a fraction of the cost. For camber measurement it would be super easy just to make your own bar to precisely fit onto your rim only without overlapping the tires. I have some L shaped aluminum circular saw guides that are 4ft long each that I lash to my tires...but with Nitto trails you really have to be careful to set it across equal sidewall tread chunks.

The whole process would be a piece of cake if it could be done on jack stand at droop because you could just pull your wheels off and work with the rotors / WM surfaces but it has to be done weighted at ride height...

What I would like to do is get it close with the heims and use the lowers for fine tuning.

Jon ...you have heimed uppers -solid mount your lowers so you never have to worry about alignment again ! All you need is some square washers in the right size :

No idea about 35s, but your right, it would be very very easy to fab up a set yourself. I just used a chunk of angle iron and a magnetic angle gauge.

That would be great if it could be done. Theoretically you should be able to, but you'd have to model the suspension swing and figure out a multiplier for the readings.

It was a thought man, I just didn't think it necessary just yet. I got those TC gussets on with my lift.

I just got dirt king heimed ucas. Can you explain more on the solid mount lowers?

Also wouldn't it be best to set the lower arm in the center of the wheel well to avoid both the lower front bumper and cab mount and then use the fine adjustment of the heims to dial it in?

Solid mounting the lowers is done by removing the alignment cams and replacing them with a straight bolt. You have to use a square washer like the one I posted to sit in the alignment tabs. That makes it a solid mount with zero adjustment but that also means it can't come out of adjustment.

I can't remember for sure you would need to measure a set of OE cams. There is like a 5mm dia size difference between the front and rear cams. I think LSK makes a solid mount kit but your buddy at Avid could just cut you out the square washers you need on his CNC table then all you need is some grade 8 bolts in the same OD as the OE cams. I think @SconnieHailer has the LSK kit ?

I was just going through this, and here is what I came up with for hardware, LSK doesn't make the tabs anymore.

I also took measurements on the TC tabs I can post up, going to make my own and do an offset instead of centering them so I can put some of the caster in with the LCA so the UCA wont have to be pulled to the back which will create more clearance issues on the firewall.

So I pretty much don't have to ask a question anymore thanks to the first few posts

So why don't we all measure the bolt positions for good alignment and get a set of fixed tabs made, or just weld a set in place, and never have the alignment issues again?

You could, each truck will be slightly different though. I may get an alignment and measure the offset for the hole i would need to essentially mount it solid in the same spot the cam placed the bolt. Or theres the option of tack welding the cam in place to prevent movement

But the fact that we're not all doing this tells me it's not that simple. However short of bending the frame I don't see how the 'right' settings could change (obviously excluding deliberate changes like changing lift, etc).

I think its just a matter of most dont go through the trouble more than anything else. Easier just to take it to an alignment shop after wheeling and let them deal with it.

Because heims have a ton of adjustment. Centering the bolt is fine. And most people don't do it because you need grimes uppers and a welder or a pay a shop to do it
