I only read two pages but this is probably one of the best build pages evveerr and I'm old enough to know what a "Ca" - "sette" - "play" "yer" is!

For some reason this post confuses me. That is my truck. Is that a picture I took?

This is a picture I took. It was from Kingston Peak with the Pellmans crew last fall. I drove the Xterra.

    Awesome. Congrats.

For prosperity's sake, here are a couple pics of your Xterra and my truck together. Would love to meet up and wheel again.

Haha no worries. I wasn't entirely sure that was you. I'm already waiting for the snow to melt and to get back out on the trail.

How are the 881's and Dakars now? Happy with 881 choice? Did you do OME AAL or no?

    Love them.

I did not add the AAL. Maybe in due time if the leafs start sagging but for my needs the AAL is unnecessary. I do not have any heavy bumpers or armor that would greatly affect the leafs.

The normal ride is a bit stiff, but not jarring. I actually like this. But where the suspension shines is when there is weight in the bed. I hauled a lot of rock this past summer and even with 1 ton in the bed it drove like a dream and didn't get serious bro-lean.

On the trails, with camping gear and weight in the bed, it too handled beautifully.

Like I said, my set up is great for stock bumpers, stock skids and sliders. I'd imagine the ride would be a lot smoother with no load in the bed if I had a heavier rear bumper but for now, I'm totally psyched.

Cool. I am running into a bit of a crossroad with my 4 cylinder model being about 200lbs lighter. Not sure what the difference would be. I am thinking the AAL in the rear would be too much for my uses as well. No major armor or permanent camper shell.

881's are a little stiff you say? How much lift did you get in the front? rear (without camper)?

I'd say don't use the AAL. Worst case buy it later and add it. Now on the front I have no clue. I have 620# eibachs and they're super stiff :puke:

My numbers are meaningless because my stock suspension was so shot. And I only took measurements (before and after) that had the topper on:

Center of hubs to bottom of fender flares.

    Before:

Empty bed, with the topper on.

    Driver Front: 20 7/8"
    Driver Rear: 20 1/4"
    Passenger Front: 20 3/4"
    Passenger Rear: 20 1/4"

After 1000 miles on the new suspension. Empty bed, with the topper on.

    Driver Front: 22 3/4"
    Driver Rear: 24"
    Passenger Front: 22 7/8"
    Passenger Rear: 24"

Madjik, did you get that front bumper yet? (unless I missed something and you're not getting a new front bumper?)

Awesome build thread, btw. Have really enjoyed going through it. Good inspiration for the day I put on my big boy pants and finally get a Taco.
