So if I am correct. Under normal conditions vsc should be off. But when I start the truck it is on. If I shut if off I can do donuts. I know that.

This. Cutting it off and doing donuts is probably why your MPGs suck.

I know for Gen2, if you hit it once it will disable it but the "Auto LSD" light turns on. Then, if you're driving and hit it, If so remember right, only the LSD light turns on. And if you hit it while in 4WD, the "Trac Off" light comes on. Crazy stuff.

I appreciate the comments. Just wondering if I am reading the manual correctly.

I believe the manual states to drive with it off for everyday driving.

The truck defaults to it being on.

I don't do donuts on the regular. Have a new truck. Wanted to check handling characteristics. Truck handles unbelievable in 2wd. Took off vsc and noticed the rear end kick out. Looked it up in manual and made it sound like should only be used when traction is reduced or in a unleavened ditch.

I think you're getting the auto lsd confused with vsc. VSC should be on for everyday driving.

I had the 2012 Taco and got tired of all that VSC bullshit, f'ing around with the buttons so the engine wouldn't cut out here and the brakes would cut in there. Bought a '05 Tundra with the 4.7l V8, no VSC and pocketed $12k. ABS still sucks though, that's the same
