Op test driver a 4.30 rear end manual 3rd gen, it smokes the 2nd gen. If you put the current engine in the 2005 taco( with same throttle programming) it would pull harder and beat it 0-60 and 1/4 mile. Everyone's complaints come from the modern throttle programming. The 1gr wouldn't feel as peppy in 2016 with an mpg driven engineering goal.

Just wondering why you have to buy new. Sorry if you have already answered this question. You can get a 2015 certified warrantied like new. The dealership across the street from where I live always has several really nice used Tacomas on the lot. Especially now that the nrw model is out. If you tell them what you are looking for they will try to find you one. I have always bought used before and had great luck with them.

Simple. I want to break it in properly, and I don't want a pickup someone else got rid of because of drive line shimmy. But I could be swayed this time.

For Toyota 'knocking it out of the park' would be selling them as quick as they can make them. That's all they are concerned about.

Nothing. Needed a full size. Thought I could get by with a mid size but then hunting season came around and I was wrong.

And I got a hell of a deal on my Ram. Couldn't pass it up.

My dad has a ram with the 6'4" box and with the winch and tires on my 4 wheeler, he couldn't close the tailgate. Didn't even attempt to try it on the Tacoma.

I was actually asking tdnick, the original owner. He traded for a bigger Dodge Ram. Just wondering why he dumped the Taco.

Guess it depends on the 4wheeler but mine fits fine with the tailgate closed.

The front tires on my grizzly wont fit between the wheel wells. Hoped they would increase the 41.5" clearance, but its not a big deal. My wolverine will fit, and I just toss the grizz in my trailer. only sucks when I'm just toting the grizz.
