    Even without hem joint uppers, once the alignment is set it shouldn't change, right? So we can just weld and forget about it.

    I get using a centering plate with Hemed uppers.

    I quit bitching and started doing it myself. Been a happy man every since.

    I have dirt king hiem uppers. Their boxed design (being wider/thicker) has given me some grief with tire rub on the uca on full lock with the tire that's turning in. Have to be honest on that, but the arms have been great otherwise. If I ran 2.5* caster while the lower arm was centered in the mounts then i didnt rub. It's when i ran 3* ish that it rubbed due to the increased camber at a higher caster values on turn in

    I haven't had a bad experience with firestone. The one I go to has a tech that does a great job. Gets the numbers I want every time. I have their lifetime and have used it 9 times in the last 2 years as I get an alignment after each off road trip. Although the tech hasn't flattened my cam tabs, the rocks on the trails sure did. I hit something hard enough to sheer the heads off three bolts that hold my lca skid plate on and bend my cam bolt and flatten the tab. I may not be able to prevent the bolts from breaking again but hopefully I won't have problems with tabs anymore cause this wasnt the faster project I've ever done. Haha

    Because i did it this weekend and was really surprised at how stretched they were, check your limit straps. I had them installed a little tight so they would stretch on some typical driving. But wow, i had to adjust them quite a bit to make sure my uniball posts didnt hit the cup and everything was kosher. I also de-cranked about a 1/4" to recenter the uniball. All is well now.

    Took me longer then that but by myself and I also took all the front suspension off both sides to do some other things like spindle gussets, SDHQ axle boots, poly urethane lca bushings and new lca ball joints. Soooooooo I'm not really sure exact how long the cam tabs took. I just know it's too long

    Haha I was thinking dirty ....... But yes. It was a lot of work but it always feels good to upgrade/fix stuff on the truck. I'm at the point with my build where I do way more maintenance work then I do spend money on better truck parts. Sometimes the small things are the most gratifying

    Maintenance is the most rewarding part due to the confidence it gives you after. I always feel good after a full retorq and lube of the chassis and UBs

    This. I just put in a new rack as well as the tabs this weekend (probably 8 hours all in taking my time to clean them up and paint etc.), and I am way excited about the rack, feels awesome to steer again. Sometimes its the little things in life.

    This is exactly what I'm excited about. For awhile now my bushings have been shit. This last trip was the icing on the cake as we went to a super rocky park and I couldn't hardly enjoy the trail ride because of the crap feel of the steering and suspension. I had to stop on the trail to beat in my firewall more and grind down the cab mount to unsafe proportions just to keep riding because my alignment got so jacked up. New bushings and a good alignment will hopefully make me like my truck again. Haha
