    I did the same mod a couple years ago. the red epoxy fell out so I plasti-dipped the whole thing red and peeled off the area over the white.
    Probably lost 1 MPG, but gained 3 HP! Also added corrosion resistance.

    You could get the ATO's. They have an option for one of the bolt's to be drilled out for you already so that you can lock it
