Since y'all are talking lights, if anyone wants a couple of brand new LumoPro lp180 flashes and some extras I don't use them anymore.

I have something similar except mine doesn't bend. Same concept, different brand. I'm on my second one (first one got lost at Disneyland crowd) and I like it better than direct flash when indoors or outside when it's getting dark.

Over the 5 years since I've been going to the Oregon Zoo, the tiger exhibit is always dead. Most of the time the tiger is sleeping in its den but today it was active. Must be due to the cold weather.

Are you using the Lumiquest one that velcro's onto the flash head? I used to use one of those back in the film days and it worked pretty good.

There is nothing like the feeling you get when you go out to take photo's and see something that the dynamic range is all over the place so you decide to HDR it and think you nailed it. Then you get home and realize you have three shots with the same exposure because you forgot to flip the bracketing back on. o_O  :annoyed:

Oh well more work in PS. lol

Haha! Modern photographers have to be some kind of button jockey it seems. At least there's the ability to post hdr :p

@JoeTacoma02 that photo of the tiger is really striking color wise. At least on my phone :)

They wouldn't put so many buttons on the camera's if they didn't want us to use them. Duh! :p

I don't remember the first one I got but it was velcro style like you mention. I didn't want to add the sticky velcro to my flash so I used a rubber band to hold it. Currently have this one. Bought it off Amazon..brand is something like Pangshi? It was fairly cheap so I went with it. Dual sided with its own band to wrap around the flash head.

Thanks! I wish I would have upped the shutter speed a little to avoid the slight motion blur -_- it looked good on the camera's flip screen.

Took the new (to me, super banged up) Ricoh GR out for a spin tonight. Just got it in the mail today and couldn't wait. Ended up finding some kids dancing in the street. Not the best photos ever, but it was fun to get used to the 28mm field of view. I'm very used to 35 (and 21) and really suck at pre-visualizing the 28mm frame lines, but I'm working on it.

I didn't even know Ricoh still made camera's. The last time I saw one it was a new 35mm SLR in a camera shop.

Looks like it takes pretty nice photo's.

It has character. It's a niche camera that I doubt 90 something percent of people would like. But it does one job well and it's "snap focus" is awesome.

Yeah Ricoh still makes cameras and Chaz has great examples :) In 2011 Ricoh purchased Pentax, a large part of the decision was to get into interchangeable lenses. Pentax does not have a strong North American presence but are more common in the rest of the world. A few of the Pentax primes are still considered the best in the world mainly the FA 77 limited. I own the FA 43 limited and quite a few other lenses but am not good enough to deserve a 77 limited yet! Ricoh cameras are often used for street photography around the world.

In the Vietnam era Pentax was widely used in the rainy jungles of SE asia they have always been a somewhat rugged camera. And in the Gulf they have held up well to the sand and weather extremes. Canon and Nikon haven't always been the main players, at one time Pentax was equal in market share and many in the US learned on Pentax 35mm film cameras, in the 70's Pentax was one of the world's largest optical companies.

But Paul Newman's racing team was sponsored by Canon and the AE-1 which was state of the art at the time, and Newman was cool so I went with an AE-1 instead of course.

Got away from photography in general until a few years ago and wanted something with weather sealing and rugged so finally ended up with Pentax when they came out with the K3. Something I could drag through the snow and mud hunting and chasing wildlife using a camera instead of a gun.

But on the back instead of saying Pentax.....

I saw the K3 at Photo Marketing Association show. Didn't get anywhere near the attention it deserved. Nice camera.
