I'm not 100% sure about having to get it done again so I did ask my friend and he said he had to get a new recon after he bought his truck although it could be because the guy was military

Same here. I think as long as the paperwork matches the truck its good. Also no need to go down and update the paperwork cause nothing has changed

No offense to anyone, but but wouldn't answer unless you know...

The recon belongs to the vehicle, nor the owner. As long as there is nothing changed after the recon was done, the paperwork just goes with the vehicle. If the new owner changes anything, then there needs to be a new recon.

If you are buying the vehicle, I would just make sure everything on the truck matches the recon paperwork. Plenty guys go get recon with small tires, put back there huge ass sticking-out mudders, then put it in CL saying it has recon.. true it has recon, but not with the setup that they are trying to sell you.
I know this for sure... I sold my truck with recon...

    Mahalo everyone!

Just wanted to get some info so the buyer could have a heads up of what to do, if anything. And if he needed to have it updated with his name/address info on the permit.

I don't need any. @EODTRD might need some and there maybe others with aftermarket front bumpers that might need.

These are the same left and right. The smaller plate is centered left to right on the larger one and an 1/8" up from the bottom.

Ima try to push a set today... Just to clarify.... The side piece is 2.0x3.0 and the other is 1.5x2.5 ... The 3.0 long side meets the 2.5 long side at 90° 1/8" backspaced from the corner.... What sized bolt? Be as specific as possible... 3/8 or 5/16?

I redrew it for a 3rd dimension.... Please check this for accuracy... Don't judge me I'm not an artist

That looks correct. As for the bolts you could use either, as long as it doesn't exceed 3/8" and the welded nut matches the bolt. 1/4" bolt would be a little too small and larger than 3/8" would be a little to large lol.
You'll have a 1/4" space on each side of the small plate (it's 1/2" less wide than the larger 3") And yes, 1/8" up from the bottom like you have drawn.

And the hole in the small plate is 13/16" to center of hole from the corner where your weld is.
