Taking some does from the past two weeks to the processor's to get us some meat! Me and 3 others killed these the past two weeks in south Alabama. No trophy bucks insight these past two weeks but there have been does galore and my freezer was getting a little too empty so went on doe control patrol. (and a little truck photography on the way back to the cabin)

This is what is missing to my season this year. Could not get a nice snow hunt. Congrats!

Snow has come, and gone. Today, the last day of the season, the temp was about 39 as I was spreading the decoys. (Probably good since my waders were about as waterproof as a sponge -- my feet were very wet today!) Weird season. On this last day, I shot a teal (and saw two more)! The geese only just now showed up in any numbers -- and the season is over. I did shoot a LOT of ducks this year and it has been extremely good eats; I think I've finally perfected my duck sausage recipe! Great times, great memories, and another season worth of experience. Today, I watched a bald eagle chasing ducks, and had two common merganser drakes successfully fishing among my decoys for at least 20 minutes. I could have shot them, but they aren't my favorite and it was actually quite entertaining.

Man just makes me jealous only thing I killed this year was that buck didn't get to duck hunt at all cause of work (new job and no vacation) and just bad number at the blind didn't feel like drivin an hour and a half to watch the sky and the weather never pushed the cranes this far until the last day of the season so maybe next year will be better

Oh and that duck sausage looks delicious wanna share the recipe??

Up here almost all the hunting seasons are closed since jan 1 or so. It's winter sportsmen shows time. There I spoke to a waterfowl outfitter who told me that on a regular season his clients shot around 1000 birds. This year the final count was around 450. Add this to a deer season that yielded 30% less deer than last year. No wonder my freezer is almost empty!

Sure, when I get a chance I'll type it up and post it.

Love those redheads! Those and Cans are hard to find on my patch of river. The reservoir above my stretch of river has them and every now and then at least a few reds venture down the river. The reservoir is just too hard to hunt from my kayak as the weather can get very nasty, very fast. I hate fighting high winds, 4-5 foot waves and blinding snowfall in a little kayak loaded down with decoys, me and a gun. I've done that a few times and decided I much prefer the river.

I appreciate that, only one trout worth keeping- between the wind and the temperature spikes not much was happening in the way of fish

I'd kinda like to throw on some Samurai gear, armed only with a Katana and hunt wild boar.

Looks like your dog was enjoying huffing on possibly licking some asshole, maybe tasted like bacon?

Speaking of bacon, How was the bacon?
