Why yes. This has been in the family for generations, but there are many ,many variations.

    Tourtière
    1 medium onion
    2 carrots
    2 medium potatoes
    Worcestershire
    1 beef bullion cube
    flour
    salt
    1 small can mushrooms
    pie crust, top and bottom
1 lb. ground meat(venison, beef, or 50/50 pork -beef

Peel and boil potatoes and carrots together.Mash them, then set aside.
Chop up onion. Put in skillet and brown. When browned, add meat and brown that.Add potatoes and carrots to skillet and mix. Add can of mushrooms.Add 2 tablespoons Worcestershire, salt, pepper to your taste.(if you want, you can also add cut up green beans)

While this is going on, add 2 tablespoons flour to a bit of cold water till it's a paste, add to meat.

Microwave 1/2 cup water with bullion cube in it till cube is dissolved, add some of this liquid to mixture in skillet.

You want mixture soft and spreadable, but not too much liquidy.

With large spoon, fill pie crust with this mixture. Install top crust and vent.
Put in oven at 425 for 30 minutes.

    Let cool and enjoy.
Freezes well, cuts up well when cold and reheats well. I'll even vacuum seal slices.
Easy to make and quite good.

For ages, I didn't like coffee. Then my wife got me hooked on it for a while. After 2 or 3 cups, I could thread a running sewing machine! About 2 years ago, the doc said I needed to quit the caffeine. No non-caffeine coffee in the house, so that went away. Love the smell of fresh coffee still.

You can't screw it up with bacon!! All great recipes start with first you cook a pound of bacon.... just saying!

When I grind up venison, I make some with slab bacon in the mix. I have made this pie with that mix and it's all good.
As I said, there's plenty of variations with this dish.

Bluegrass...try mixing leaded and unleaded coffee or buy 1/2 caffeine type. I'm a coffee freak, I hate to see anybody go without coffee. I guess I'm a coffee enabler. I hope you continue to feel better.

I drink it on and off throughout the year. Cold mornings or mornings like today when I wake up in 'stages', are great for coffee. I stop when the weather is hot or we are out backpacking. I am with you, love the smell.

Home from work....Stopped by the pet store on the way home, dropped $110 on dog food and bird food. There's 8 animals that won't go hungry for the next couple months. Then the wife and I went and had crab legs for dinner!!!! (YUM!) after that, a nice nap on the couch with the dogs piled up on top of us.

Enjoyin' life! Every second of it! Especially the simple stuff..... It sure is good to feel like a human again!

Happy Monday morning everyone, and welcome to February! Got all the ice out of the driveway this weekend and supposed to get up to 33 today should have bare bricks by the time I get home from work tonight. Under a blizzard warning here, starts in 24 hours at 6 AM tomorrow until 6 AM Wednesday. 12+ inches of snow with strong winds creating white out conditions and roads becoming impassable. Groundhog?! I don't need no stinking groundhog to tell winter is still around for 6 more weeks

Here we go again! Rainy but unseasonably warm here. Up to 51 later. This'll be a busy day @ work. Closing out my books for Jan. I have an interview (prospective new employee) @ 11, a couple sales calls in the afternoon, and the one I'm dreading, a meeting with our HR director regarding an employee from another dept that is causing issues with some of my people. This will result in a long term employee being fired. Never a fun thing. Oh well. Goes with the job....

    Y'all have a good'n!

    Edit;

Job interviewee just had 2 dozen doughnuts delivered to my office. I see potential!
