... and don't forget the rabid zombie spruce tree outbreak. They're attacking everything in their path.

    That is a real cluster-fuck!

I think he's talking about a booster pack in case you end up killing your battery with your lights.

    Got one, with a built-in compressor. It's handier than a pocket on a t-shirt.

But I'm really interested in knowing if I should upgrade my alternator, battery, and possibly some wiring, with over 720w/60 amps of draw?

Of course, I won't be using all the lights at the same time. That would be retarded.

Can an electro-nerd chime in, please?

The other day I was in traffic with a brand new plastic and luxurious leather clad 100% highway only equipped Jeep Cherokee sporting a snorkel. I about pissed myself.

I don't need to be an electrical engineer to know that makes no sense whatsoever. But you have tacozilla wanting to do all sorts of silly shit. Wow.

Now, now... I live very rural with no street lighting whatsoever; all back roads and critters. My work and parking areas in the back 40 are not lit up, and I'm not about to invest thousands in lighting them up either. I also do a lot of fishing and hunting with access down old logging roads. The 'silly' has a purpose, which will be both form and function.

My wife and I are also planning an extensive trip to the east coast, across Newfoundland, then up to Labrador, and across the northern part of Canada to the Yukon and Alaska in 3 years. I'm building now.

So call me silly. I can take it.

Same here. I fully support lighting off-road and back country vehicles like the surface of the sun. But jokkers extra batteries and booster packs don't help us do that. :)

You're right. I'm just inquiring about if a high amp alternator and big-ass battery is necessary. I'd carry the booster pack antway.

    e.g. 250 amp alternator/31 series battery

Adding the lights he might need an extra battery.
A booster pack is always a good idea to carry.

No need to be an asshat !
