Just took the 4runner to get smogged and it failed...just need to run it longer after the battery died from sitting. Also looked under the truck and a inner CV has decided to rip after I just put them on. Lovely...

I'm a Glock and Ruger Guy all the way. But have you ever looked at a Kel-Tec? They have a .380 that is crazy small and light. I toss it in my front pocket of my shorts...and sometimes forget it's there. Now I have to be honest...I'm a hare over 6' and weight a solid 250lbs. But being a Police Officer, we are required to carry a fire arm with us 24/7...weather we are on duty or off. Being a Glock guy I started out with a Glock 30 then quickly moved to a G27 (back then there was no G21 or G43) anyway even my G27 suddenly got big and heavy. I've tried a lot of pistols out..spent a lot of money on titanium and magnesium. Now probably 1/2 our department carries a Kal-Tec. We qualify with them 3 times a year...firing 110 rounds per qualifications...that's 330 rounds per-year not including my practice rounds. Times that by 60+ officers...over the last 5-6 years. Out of all those rounds and guns...I can only remember 1-2 malfunction and IIRC that was linked back to bad ammunition. The only drawback we found is its so small, which makes it harder to hold and harder to aim. But sounds like that would actually help you. Just a thought...letting you know what's out there.

Here's a link to a review you can look at...please feel free to look at others. IIRC I paid $280 new for mine.

    I hope this helps you!

I have the Glock .380(G42) and I like it. I don't have my CCW in CO yet so I am mostly open carrying my G19 which isn't too bad.

Probably the best reading you can do before buying a 3rd Gen

Hey Vince why can your brother have a G26 in California??

Wow...Zach we are a lot alike. I just don't understand why hobbies have to be so exspensive? Since the government reads these post...I'll just say I have more than 10 weapons! And I'm addicted to building exspensive Lego set...hahaha!!

I sold my dirt bike a long time ago...been into quads for the last 10-12 years. I'm looking at changing again though, since this new Yamaha YXZ1000 Side-x-Side has come out! I'm so wanting one...but it's hard to even think about dropping $20,000 on a toy? Heck, I only paid $7,000 for my 4Runner..haha!!

Wow...wow...wow!! That's a lot of miles on a sports bike!! The most I've had on any of mine was like 11,000 miles. Usually though it was a lot closer to 4-5,000 miles. I can't even imagine 85,000 miles. Did you put all those miles on there? Well I guess part of that is because I live in frik'in Ohio...where you can only ride a bike 4-5 months out of the year.
I truly don't care for Ohio...but I have to say, at less we don't have to do smog checks and crazy weird inspections to our vehicles every year. Nothing but a racket for the state to make money off the people. Just another form of taxes!

You beat me to it Vince..haha!! I second this! Jim knows his stuff and did a lot of research to put that together. You won't find any better reference to go by!!

California has the Handgun "Safety" Roster. Basically in order to have a handgun on the roster, it has to have a manual safety, drop safety and chamber indicator. Plus you have to submit like 5 guns to the state so they can test them and pay a yearly fee to keep the handgun on the list. All Gen 3 Glocks are grandfathered onto the safety roster but they still have to pay the yearly fee. Since the G42 and G43 are both new Glocks, and don't have the manual safety there is no way it can get on the roster. Also the Gen4's were deemed to have enough change to them they wouldn't fall under the grandfathered list. Basically the only way to get a G42 or G43 is from a LEO or someone who moved to CA from out of state.

I hope that kind of makes sense

He does go into detail and he points out all the stuff you should really look for when buying one.

Ya with those Lego sets those 80% lowers were great and it's legal to make 5 guns a year so that makes it a little easier.

The side x sides are amazing fun and right out the box they go almost anywhere. But the price tag!!!! Then you throw long arms and more suspension and you can go anywhere as fast as you want. Crazy. I've been in one that rolled and we literally turned it back over and drove it away before it stalled.

I think many of us are alike around here and that's why we get along.

That total Bullsh*t!! Glockenspiel have been proven to be one of the safest pistols made. One reason LEO carry them. But because they don't have a manual safety...and then the manufacture has to pay money to be on a list...what...that's just another tax they place on the business that in turns raises the price of the guns. So really they are taxing you.

Now did I read this correctly...Law Enforcement is allowed to carry any Glock they want?? How is this fair...what makes LEO special? What's good for the government to carry should be good for the people to carry...Right???!??!?? Vince I know you don't live in California...but I just don't know how guys deal with the government there. Why don't y'all vote them idiots out of office...wow! Hearing that has pissed me off. So much for our second amendment rights. Sure you can own a gun...but only the ones we let you own. Where does it say that in the Second Amendment???

I grew up in CA and lived there for a couple years after I left AZ, so it is was annoying trying to figure out what was and wasn't legal especially with rifles. If the handgun roster pisses you off you should see the rifle list and what makes it an "assault" rifle and what doesn't. It is pretty freaking crazy. In CA LEO's are exempt from the magazine law(10rd max limit for Civvies) and the handgun roster. They can order any handgun they want(whether they use it for work or not). A lot of LEO's will buy the "off" roster guns and turn around and sell them for a hefty profit. Basically they will buy a blue label G43 for $350(It is around there) and turn around and sell it for $650 or more to a Civvie.

Because of the fee every year I believe Ruger pulled out of CA. They didn't want to pay the yearly fee so they removed all their handguns from the roster in protest. Unfortunately in CA, LA, San Diego and San Fran run the state. The Center part and the Eastern part of the state are very conservative but they don't have enough votes to counter the votes from the three large liberal cities. So they keep electing anti-gun Governors and Senators.

I'm impressed you now of 80% lowers. Not many do. I've built a few. People freak out when they look at them with no serial number...haha. Have to love our forefathers for that!!

Yes...those side x sides are getting close to being mini-trophy trucks. The Yamaha is electronically held at 80mph...what!! That's super crazy speeds off road. I love it!!

It nice when you are at the range and a Leo notices and says good for you.
It helps that a good buddy has the CNC machine available.

Ya they are deff the future. I'm just not ready to give up my heated seats and Windows and air conditioning.
