The 2020 Annual Citrus Meet!

Oh well I'm not worried about it

 

A couple years ago, for the 2014 Annual Meet, I found a crap ton of places on CL in South Tampa selling it for $20 a wheelbarrow full. After that, I had a hook up where I got it for free (the guy renting our spare room worked for a tree service). Of course, we are tenant free now so after this trip, I'll be back to buying it. Still, a wheelbarrow full of wood is a pretty good amount, so if everyone staying at your campsite brings one, you should have plenty...especially if you pool your supply with your neighbors and only use one fire pit (like we did back in October).

 

Will be there to wheel Saturday, I'm unsure of any locations except trail 13 , the main entrance. I'll get there early and look around. Will have CB hand held, limited range, what channel this time round?

 

Channel 4. What time do you plan on heading up?

 

I'll bring firewood for you guys. gotta get back home Saturday night sometime.

Ryan, excellent. Early, like leave my place in Davenport around 6am, get up there around 8-8:30ish. When are you leaving?

 

My friend should be tagging along with his taco but I planned on leaving my house around 7:15 ish. If he does it might be like 8:30 but im hoping for 7:15

 

When I'm ready Saturday, I'll post and see what your plan is.

 

What time is the first ride of the day going to be? Just want to see what time we will have to be up in order to eat breakfast.

How long do the rides usually last?

Also will we be getting fuel prior to the ride and then after the rides? I will bring a gas container with me but it is only 6 gallons.

for Saturday? Usually in the morning when everyone is ready. Rides usually last for 2-3 hours I'd say

Fill up before you get there and you'll be good all weekend. No extra gas required. Also a gas station 5 minutes from the campground

We aren't that rigidly scheduled, haha. We generally move out when everyone is up, fed, adequately caffeinated, and ready to go. Usually this is not much before 9am but not much after 10am. As for how long the rides last, there's no real plan there. We could go back to camp for lunch or we could stay out until dinner. Depends on how early we start.

As for gas, we generally just slip away once we're back at camp. There's a Marathon just south of trail 10 on 581 so it's not far from camp.

 

So anyone watching the weather, looks like it might have changed for the worse with chances of rain Saturday and Sunday rain for sure. This is still 4-5 days out but just a thought. Pack some rain gear.

 

Yeah, I've been keeping an eye on it. Sunday is looking pretty ugly. Hopefully we'll have a chance to pack up before it unloads too much on us. A lot of folks will be headed home Sunday morning, but those of us that want to have a last ride will be in for a treat. Trail riding in the rain is pretty fun actually. Camping it it will kinda suck though.

 

Well, shit...just looked at the weather...it's changed a lot from when I looked at it this morning. Looks like Saturday night is gonna suck. Everyone start praying it clears up before then.
