    Ok so what I'm reading is that the 1GR also has a stroke of 95mm and I'm looking at a stroker kit for the 1GR which has a 103mm stroke. 4.66L is what the kit claimes. So why couldn't this be done on a 2TR?

    The stroker crank by itself makes the engine a 4.3L. Over boring the cylinders, after having Darton Sleeves installed is how you gain the rest of the liter size. Except therein lies the issue.

    Cometic will only make a gasket so large, due to where the embossed lip is. Which mine was on the verge of.

    You could get there, but you'd have to use a copper gasket.

    Either way, sleeving ghe block is the only way to do any significant over-boring.

    The 2TR could have a stroker crank made. I would contact LC Engineering and ask them about having a stroker crank made. If you are serious. Rod length could potentially stay the same, as long as the pistons were designed with the wrist pin in a different location, specifically for the new stroke.

    It can all be done. Just need to find the people to help you get there.

    Which engine shares the most components with the 2TR would be the most beneficial. Such as head studs for example.

    Then again, there is a limit to how much larger the stroke of a stroker crank can be. Due to physical limitations. Of the rotating assembly for one.

    Most people prefer the 2RZ 86mm stroke over the 3RZ 95mm for the good compromise between low end power and max RPM's. They respond well and put down a good power band with a turbo. The 2.7 is generally avoided as the longer stroke (generally) means a weaker con rod and lower RPM's. Its harder to get the higher end power (RPM) as you are limited by the internal weight/strength.

    As Tor can attest to, when you start making that stroke longer and those cylinders bigger, you need to be very careful with the weight of the internals as well as the strength. This isn't cheap. You also have to be careful where you cap the RPM's.

    Your best bet @Taco Nation , is to first find out how badly your current engine is damaged. Then lay out a plan from there.

    @Torspd is there an internal you would upgrade first above all else? One URD comes out with UCON for everyone (years from now :rofl:) I'll be having just about everything I can as a power upgrade and will start looking into upgrading internal for stronger HP and such.

    What he said ^^^. Plain. Simple. Easy. Molnar, Pauter, BC, CP Carrillo. Molnar rods will be the most economical. About $600 for the set. Wiseco, JE, or CP pistons. Since those have all been made for the 1GR.

    I pat myself on the back for my contributions to Pauter, Molnar, and JE. ;)

    Pistons can be had for $800- 1200.

    Then just bearings, for the rods. Headgaskets, and head studs.

    I keep having bad thoughts about putting Axletech 4000's under the taco. 6.83 gears, air lockers in the hubs, bulletproof, and only cost $2500 for the pair.

    $2500 for a pair of axles with the capability of 4 wheel steering and monster trucking everything! Hell yeah.

    Possibly. I'll have the crawl ratio to turn the tires, but the regular 2H might be an issue with the stocker.

    Yeah, 6.83 gears. The only question is what size tires? :rofl:

    There are rigs running 54's with these axles and they just laugh at them. I was thinking 44's would be plenty. :D

    That's what has me thinking about it. The WMS spacing is 93" though. So I'd have to run a very high backspace wheel to keep me under legal width.

    Truth! Maybe I'll pick up a pair and sit on them till the aftermarket builder parts start picking up.

    Let's not forget that after you pull the brakes off the axles are still 1k lbs each.

    Those two completed axles with tires likely weigh in almost as much as the dang truck. :eek:

    Smokey would tip the scales close to 7-8k with those axles and tires.
