I'm being forced to go skiing in Vermont this weekend. After I'm back I'll finalize the design and get it out to the shop.

Any updates on this? Will those support a RTT and two average persons?

I lost track of all the stuff I read so far :hattip:

I've decided not to rate these for RTT's, and here's why....

The vertical brackets are made from 3/16 material. I believe that two people of larger than normal pant size, having filthy hillbilly relations in the tent, may possibly cause the brackets to fold over. It may also cause four flat tires.

So it isn't really worth the risk.

If you want something nice for RTT's, check this puppy out: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/kb-voodoo-bed-rack.413875/

Thanks for clarifying it. I liked the idea to be able to use a bed cover with the tent.

I got bed bars already, but whatever is in the bed gets wet when it rains.

I might pour myself a fat glass of vodka and make a couple tweaks to the design tonight, so final release is right around the corner.

This is exactly what I have been looking for!!! Will these work with the G4 Elite Fold-A-Cover on a 2016 long bed?

    - I'll admit I haven't carefully read every single post, but I did not see this question posted.... Is there or could there be an issue with the cover no longer being as weather tight after installing the mounts? I picture these leaving a slight gap on either side of the mounts between the bed rail, and the cover's rail which may allow water to enter the bed. My roll up is very water tight now - I have no issues going through a car wash with it and keeping the bed dry.

    Just wondering..... Thanks

I would assume that sticking a piece of metal under the cover would sacrifice some water tightness. If the metal were thinner, it would help, but then the bars would be weaker.

I don't bring my car through a car wash and never will even if it is touchless. I like to do it by hand. But with my on top of the bed cap T/C I haven't noticed any water getting in the bed after washing it. But his T/C is of a different version so can't answer that.
