Haha I always set Google Maps to "avoid tolls". Fuck the tolls! It's not useful unless you are driving in rush hour everyday.

 

We have the " quick pass" on our other 2 cars but the only time the truck has been through it is when I've come to your place

 

Learning the area you live seems to be a bygone thing, it's not that difficult.
I can be in anyone of a dozen places in a given day, if I relied on GPS to "get me there" it would take 3x as long. I use GPS to show me general location of a place I haven't been, the rest of the trip is my own reconodering (look it up) it may not be Googles way, it may not even be the fastest, but it's a lot easier than having to deal with being sent on the goose chases I have been sent on in the past.
I drive a van with company signage, kinda out of place for an industrial equipment tech to be in a neighborhood mid day ( though I do go to residential construction sites on occasion)
"Smart" phones are as much of a Bain as they are helpful. (says the guy killing time waiting for a meeting to start)

 

I have places I don't go to often, Brier Creek, northern cary, BF-JoCo. It's nice to see the traffic and see other routes. It's just a tool, it can't get the truck there without me and I use it as a tool.

 

It is a tool, yes, a lot of folks use it as a reason not to think.

We'll if it looks like that I guess I could maybe get @RaleighTaco a place to sit. IF he gets me a bigger garage.

 

I don't know about the bigger garage but I could bring some pads to sit on for the longer jobs of course I would leave them there permanently

I think it would be a good addition to @ThunderCookies truck. A red bench in the bed to add on to your subtle red theme. Would that be too "rice"?
