I am looking at picking up an ARB diff breather kit this week and had some questions for anyone who has previously installed one.
    1. Does the ARB kit come with the specific fitting for the axle?
    2. Where is the optimal place to route the filter to? (I'm thinking engine bay.)
    3. Should I plan on extending the vent for the front diff as well, or is it already extended.

I read through the thread and seems to conflict with what the ARB dealer told me with the axle fitting.

I'd probably just route it up into the tail light area. People have done that with the OEM Toyota breathers like in the link above. Just unbolt the tail light, route your breather up that way from the rear diff and secure it as you see fit and bolt the tail light back up

On a side note the ARB kit isn't that cheap you can probably do the DIY breather mod using the OEM breathers/unions and some fuel line for less than half the price. Only thing is you'll have to wait on the parts, since I doubt most dealers have them on hand. But if you have to order the ARB version too, you mineswell go OEM. Not like you are going to see the breather anyways...lol

My understanding is that the ARB and Piranha kits include a free breathing filter and not a one way valve like what is currently on the rear diff. I would assume that the issues of running a one way valve wouldn't go away just because you relocated the original hardware to a higher location?

While the breathers look the same, the breather in the diff breather mod is a two way valve not one way like the original on axle breather. Just follow the instructions in the link below and your pocket book will thank you.

@Doc_CJ see what nd4spdbh posted. The replacement breather people use for the mod is a 2 way. You do NOT reuse the stock breather.
