Just got in my order of the Iron Cross 3" tube steps.
I ordered through Running Board Warehouse and called to confirm that this would fit the 2016 Tacoma. Got them delivered and went to install them today to find that their "frame locker" does not slide into the provided hole on the frame as it should.

Although I doubt anyone has the same setup as I do...does anyone have any ideas? I am waiting on an email from Iron Cross and I provided them these same pictures.
    Thanks!

I could be wrong, but I thought that the frame already had pre-threaded holes where they are accessed by removing plastic plugs? Are you sure the bolts are not upside down? Although, that would seem strange as the bolt is welded onto the backing plate?

Correct. There are pre-drilled holes that are covered by a plug. When I remove that plug, the hole shown is what I have to work with and the frame lockers provided can't fit into that hole.

Definitely an option we're considering. I was thinking about shortening the frame locker piece but I'm worried it will not do it's intended job by grabbing the span of the metal groove it sits in for me to tighten the nut down.

    Don't do that. :)

On my Pilot, there is an access panel (bigger hole) in which to fish the bolt through the bolt hole. Wonder if the Tacoma has this same setup as well?

I ordered the OEM tubes for my truck and they are not here yet, but interested if the install is the same. I swore I read that the covered holes were threaded.

I could be completely blind but I don't see an access panel on the underside. :/ I haven't heard from iron cross yet about this issue. I'll try taking another look and seeing if in just overlooking something.

If they didn't give you any fish wire, then I'm sure that there is no other access hole

I just installed the OEM tubes and the bolts that comes with the kit just goes into the threaded holes already in the body. It seems your tubes attach to the frame itself and uses a different mounting point? Have you asked the seller?
