This is true. The ride was stiff and down travel sucked.

 

I had a few of those. But then also ordered a solid meal...

 

Sway bar might be hitting coil .. Pretty common

 

That noise you are hearing is probably the shock/spring extending its max down travel. I had the same issue and I think @bakerla does as well.
Consider the 887 if its still too stiff after you add weight.

 

I'm fortunate/unfortunate enough to have 886s on the truck now. But they have to get replaced within the next month. I guess I'll see if I like them when fully armored. That'll determine if I need to get 887s or stick with what I got.

 

The 887 is the same spring rate as the 885 but with an extra coil.

 

Yeah. I just liked how it handled with 885s. If the 886s feel like that for me with all that stuff, I'll probably stick with those. It's great for me since I DD a lot and don't run a swaybar.

 

You just have to hit the speed bumps with more speed.

Yes to skids.

And looks like the bumper goes on next weekend. Just got the shipping notification that it'll be here next week.
