TPMS Air Pressure

Went to Costco to inquire about some 275/70/17 KO2 (E rated) tires and asked about the TPMS. According to them, the stock TPMS on stock 265/75/16 (C rated) wheels have an air pressure range around 30 PSI. if I go with the 275/70/17's and install new or stock TPMS the light will come on because the 275,s require 40 PSI or higher. Does the light come on with an over inflated tire? I thought it only came on when it was low with air.

 

I run 35's and never had a light on due to all tires. Once you reset the system and hit the button for your pressure it will if one is over inflated or one under but not because they are all set the same and you hit the button under the steering column.

 

Thanks, It kind of struck me as being odd when he said it but I guess he's not up to speed on the 2016

Grab your owners manual and read that section. Thats how I learned about mine.

I am running 45lb in all 4 tires and the light isn't on

 

What size tire and Brand, also how's the ride with 45PSI

 

BFG A/T KO2 285/70R17 E. Rides good. Firm but not harsh
