I have a hard time buying that one. I can see a nachine failing if it was mis-used or just not taken care of

 

ok... to put this in more simple terms. The PROGRAM is consistent. It can never fail. The program the machine reads, obviously never changes. BUT from there the machine recalibrates itself (depending on how many axis it has, on how many times), and thats usually where the inaccuracies happen. Again the most accurate machine STILL have a +/- tolerance. It is NOT perfect every time, and each part could be within .0001 millimeter of difference (again the MOST accurate machine). If it was, why do we still have inspectors? Why do we still get the same parts but some fit and some don't?

Bottom line, people are under the perception that machines are exact. They are not. NO machine is.

They are only as exact as they were designed and maintained by humans to be.

 

sort of, a machine can still make mistakes outside of that that. again tolerances play into it here.

I too have the clunky shifting from 2nd to 1st. I'm at 6,000 miles now and it's seems to be getting worse. My dealer didn't want to check the transmission fluid either when I asked about it at my 5000k service. Said it was a sealed unit and not really supposed to be messed with, blah blah blah. Also, didn't know a thing about the howling noise coming from the control arm holes. Overall, they were very uninterested in dealing with anything other than the normal 5000k service. I'm not confident that any of my complaints are documented anywhere. I think I'll have to call in and update my case with Toyota to be sure!

 

their 2011 & 2012 civics were a bit eh. They were/are super bland to the eye and inside is full of cheap plastic. Overall just not Honda quality in terms of fit and finish. I have a 12 and I can confirm all of this. With the excepting of a faulty battery, mechanically it has been great.

Their new Fits also had a few quality issues and their CEO resigned, with some people thinking its because he has taken Honda in a conservative direction (such as the bland civic) and has let Q&C slip. They have a new CEO and a new civic, HRV and they are changing their designs to compete with the current market (aggressive styling, more interior room, turbo option, maintaining stellar mpg).

How about your printer getting a paper jam? Nothing you did or the paper did. Just the machine having a minor malfunction where it grabs 2 pages instead of one.
