You installed the TSB Springs a few years back? The spring replacements they're installing aren't nearly as good as the TSB springs.

I had the TSB springs. My truck had 1" rake in the back - and I loved it for load capabilities. These new springs? Truck sits level or even lower than level - I HATE it.

But..I guess you can't bypass safety.

Not the TSB springs. The dealer wouldn't budge on a repair. The warranty administrator wouldn't look at it. I pick up a set (4 pack) from a fellow Tacoma owner and swapped myself for better load capacity. If they are faulty I'd like to get them replaced. But, I also like how the truck sits and carries a load. Also was told by a Toyota rep that they haven't fix any yet. Thanks for the feedback.

This isn't encouraging. One of my stock 3 leaf springs broke 3-4 years ago and the dealer told me to pound sand. So I bought some stock replacements from general spring. Still 3 leaf. And now i've got a 1" block in the back to compensate for my 5100's at .85. I was hoping the new springs would let me lose the block and allow me to actually load the truck.... Maybe I'll see if I can reimbursed and just buy the 3 leaf AAL pack and put some 884's or 885's up front to level it out.

My 2009 TRD Sport still has the original 3 leaf pack (non TSB) installed. Right now, with a full tank of gas, the truck is sitting roughly 1.5" higher in the rear than it does in the front. Granted, the truck barely has 60k miles on it and it was owned by an old dude who did little to no hauling or towing before I bought it. However, regardless of the ride height, I've still observed the truck hitting the bump stops or bottoming out in the rear over large bumps or uneven terrain when carrying as little as 200 additional pounds in the bed. This, plus the amount of rust I can see on the spring packs, has me concerned that if I were to try to use my truck to haul the standard payload Toyota claims or to tow anything of a decent weight, I'd be putting myself and potentially other people in danger. So, just like many of you guys, I'm stuck owning a truck that I can't even use to do things that trucks are meant to do until I either suck it up and buy aftermarket springs or Toyota gets their head out of their ass and issues a fix for this recall...

Just got a 2nd letter from Toyota yesterday concerning rear leaf spring recall. Says " we are continuing to prepare remedy parts and will send you a letter inviting you into a dealership for a remedy in 2016".wow I wonder how many world wide?

I spoke to Toyota a couple of months ago and was told I could replace my springs with aftermarkets and get reimbursed. The catch is they require that a shop do the install and I would need to submit the receipts for review and payment. The whole thing sounded off. Kinda like there was no guarantee of payment and I couldn't get anything in writing.

I just had my frame replaced along with the new springs. They told me that the replacement springs were getting installed on the new frames first.
So if you want your springs get your frame replaced. And the new springs suck. I should have kept my TSB 4 pack.

They're starting finally. Local dealership is already into "weeks" of waiting for the springs.

Please describe the "suck". I too have the 4 pack TSB and love it. Are the new springs too soft like the original 3 pack?

I am in phase 2. Tried calling my dealership this morning and was told that the springs are not yet available. The response was "call back AFTER you get a letter from Toyota"

I haven't loaded them up yet but it rides like it did when new so I expect them to sag just like the original ones did. I just purchased a set of "Add a Leaf" springs to lift it a little and increase capacity.

My ontario dealer told me there is nothing he can do about my alreasy broken leaf. He said it's not an active recall here yet so he has no parts. I said I can't use the truck for it intended purpose with one broken spring. The truck rear of the truck is 2" lower on the driver side than the passenger side. He told me to buy after market springs and when the recal becomes active here toyota will reinburce me. Any suggestions to get the dealer to do their job or for aftermarket leafs?

the dealer's job is to make money and therefore negate unwarranted expenses...sounds like what he is doing (not taking up for them) When Toyota makes stuff available to the dealer to do this it'll fall out of unwarranted expense category and you'll get springs for free. It'll happen on their timeframe tho. They don't care about your issues unless someone is paying them to, and they don't care who pays as long as it isn't coming out of their pockets. I know the timing sucks but either cheap junkyard pack to get by on until free ones come from dealer or buying a new set are the options until they get their shit together.

Any recommendations for aftermarket. I'm a new taco owner and have no idea what to get. I see lots on the forums about leveling springs and 5100's . Like I said I'm a neub.
