They seem to have a lot of road wander....and body roll. Like the sidewall is made of rubber bands. Plus the 60k tread life warranty is bullshit. They don't last any longer than the BFGs they imitate or my hankooks.

Thumbs down for Generals from this guy.

I'm eager to try the Duratracs. I loved the old MTRs:

all I need is good traction, and the ability to do this without damaging the tire or rolling a bead

    ATs or MTs?

if they are back in stock, you could try the guard dog. I ran them for about three years and liked them.

I had duratracs on my 00 XJ, they were great in the snow, mud, roots n rocks that I encountered, after 2 1/2 years-20k miles I had one that wouldn't balance for shit, don't know if the Dyna beads I used stuck together or what, they were even good in the rain, for the taco tho I got the cooper at3's in 265/75/16 c load, cant comment on them yet, 1 tire had excessive roadforce and was promptly replaced by supplier, not enuff miles to make an assessment for me yet, Boss has them on her 00 XJ and luv's em

Ahhhhh I did not know that. My bad @AR15xAR10 I stand corrected. They are the same ply at the least. But the Cs are a lot lighter.

If someone has a used C rated Duratrek I'll sacrifice one of my used E rated for science!

Because most of us research our products before we spend 1000+ on a new set. ;)

You don't care about the wheels?

ATMs. Mine are the newer Chinese made ones...not the Korean made ones. They absolutely will not hold a balance. They always shudder between 50-70mph

    I don't care for retreads.

They work good in anything but 3ft of snow and super greasy clay mud.

    Plus they wear like iron.

Sidewall stiff enough to make you not wince after a pothole

    Yup.

They'll stay balanced for about 1000 miles at a time.
