Ha I'm going for the same set up for now. But only the front king coils with extended travel and total chaos UCA but for the rear I'll get the Icon AAL with bilstein 5100 for now until I get more funds for the back king coils. wheels I'm still waiting for the 16'' sr8 to be available

F150 s (I've put miles on an FX4 with ecoboost and a 14' 6.2 raptor) drive like tanks in comparison to the Tacos.
Like they should considering their respective capacities - but steering input, braking, handling all more precise in the Taco.
Deffinately more feedback in the taco which I think is a good thing.

The stock ride is better than f150 hands down , talking unloaded foe both. If you get bilstein s all around it will improve even more. I put 5100 and 5160s on my 2nd gen and was plesently surprised with improvement of stock ride -,I was going for lift only.

I find the transmission tuning better in the fords though . That was my only gripe in my 2nd gen. Why I chose MT this time around.
My 3Rd gen MT is smooth as butter though and good power and torque in all gears. Even 6th is good for passing on the highway.

Where the Taco isn't even close though is interior room, so if that's an item high on yiur list go check them out. Also power /torque is of course not even a comparison. The MT makes the truck much more comfortable to drive though IMO.

What is the difference between tubular UCA and billet UCA? Any specific advantages/ disadvantages?

I didn't build it hoping for your approval, I built it because it meets mine!
One looks way cooler than the other. And everyone knows off-roading is 90% fashion anyway.
But in reality, an Icon billet uca has adjustment between the heim joints and the billet arm. So, technically you have more adjustment to dial in your alignment better.

Pardon my ignorance but I'm new to the Tacoma world. I am taking delivery of a 2016 DC TRD O/R 4X4 Quicksand this week. I plan on putting a small (2") lift on the truck but that won't be for another couple of weeks because the shop I'm having do the work (4WheelParts.com in Plano,TX) is backed up with work. My question is if I go ahead and put the BFG T/A KO2s (275/70/17) on the truck (I also already have the black 17x7 TRD wheels in hand), am I going to have any rubbing issues in the near term. I know that the diameter of those tires is 32.2". I've been waiting on the truck for over 2 1/2 months now and I'm starting to overanalyze and second guess myself as a result. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Terrific forum, btw!

What are they charging for install if you don't mind sharing? I'm in DFW and looking for a place to have a lift installed soon.

They quoted me $1050 but I haven't put any money up yet. I'm still looking at a couple of other options before I decide. The dealership wanted over $1700 just to level it.

Over a grand to install and align a 3" lift? Highway robbery! AT most it's a 4 hour install(if I can do it in under 3 hours in my garage, then they should be able to beat that in a professional shop) with an 80 to 100 dollar alignment. Take it somewhere else!

Let's hope so. But at that price, it would likely be just a spacer, and STILL too much money for an install

@JerryTaco I've been reading through this forums as well as some for the 2nd Gens and it seems people have different answers to the question. If I put a 1.5" AAL in the rear to maintain some rake with the 5100s set at 1.75" will I need to get new rear shocks or will the stock Bilstiens that came with my truck still work? Thanks for all of the help.

Simple answer is that yes, the stock shocks will technically work, however you will not get full travel of the leaf springs and will top out the shock pretty easily when off road. It's certainly worth the money to buy a longer shock so that you can get the full benefit of the rear lift/springs since you do take your truck offroad.

What rear shock do you recommend so I can still get full travel out of the rear? Are the 5100s longer? I definitely don't want to limit my travel like that.

Yeah, the 5100's are longer and a good shock for the money. Plus they'll match up with your front suspension ride quality wise. If you wanted to step it up a notch, you could do the Bilstein 5160's which are a great shock as well.
