Good news is, when you shed the unwanted poundage, you'll have that muscle there like you said.. What's your eating like? And current workout routine? More details.
Might wanna consider challenging your lady to a healthy competition too.

Idk why this thread is so popular all the sudden, but I like it.

Did chest and some cardio today. Thinking I'm starting my cut for summer soon.

First of the year? Will fizzle in a month or two like most gyms?

Nah he's a friend and former co-worker. Not worried about that. But, I agree. Uh oh feeling.

He's been to the gym with me the last 2 days. Luckily for him, yesterday was leg day  he text me this morning and said he already couldn't move.

Damn. Agreed, drop the weight and you could be huge.

He's right, we need more info. But, I'll go ahead and tell you, it's calories in vs calories out. That's all there is to losing weight. Burn more calories than you eat. I promise you'll lose weight. Get in the gym, lift, eat in moderation, and you'll lose weight and firm up.

While most people trying to lose weight want to do cardio, you'll burn more calories by lifting. I'm not saying skip cardio altogether, but don't kill yourself on the treadmill. Lift, then hit some steady state cardio afterward.

But all of this is just advice...

New lady friend is dieting for a vacation, and wants me to diet with her so it's easier. I'm still working toward 175...currently 165. BUT...I saw pics from summer and was like "damn...I look fat now" and that made me want to cut. I'm trying to wait until April, though.

Nice. Doesn't matter what you're pushing or what you weigh, as long as you're getting better. The results will come with time and dedication. Keep at it.

I only did it for a few weeks. I meal prep every night and cook chicken and turkey burgers 2 times a week. It's all routine to me now. I work full-time, go to law school and still make time for the gym and meal prep. Sure, it's a pain in the ass taking food with me everywhere I go, but that's what keeps me from eating BK everyday.

there was an article on the Chive about that. The owner texted his best friend that for like 3 months straight and he finally went to the gym and lost a ton of weight. Tough love.

like @dwalden2 said, it's calories in v. calories out. If you're lifting heavy, you're obviously getting enough protein. Eat less carbs and fat. Try not to lose more than a pound per week though...that's when you start burning muscle.

    Does your boyfriend workout?

jk. How tall are you? That's light, man!

    ^^^truuu. Cardio is for suckers
