You are absolutely right but when the truck showed up by the time we got to the dealer (4 hours away in traffic) they were closed, it was dark and they rushed us out the door. I never would have thought a truck fresh off the line with 2 miles on it was going to be so off. The next morning i walked out and there was a gouge about 4 inches long and an inch wide on the front passenger side bumper right next to the fog light [pictured below]. I went ballistic! Drove 4 hours in traffic back to the dealer after work that day. They fixed it and i pocked it up 3 days later (4hrs in traffic) got home had a letter from Toyota financial that they got the numbers wrong and the truck was $14,000 + MORE than the contract i have but that my APR. Was going to be 0.14 less. MORE THAN S14,000 MORE than i thought the truck was going to cost?! Guess what, after worth that day, ANOTHER 4 hour drive in traffic to go make sense of it with the finance manager because all he could do was stumble on the phone. Got home the next day and got a letter from TFS saying our warranty refunds have been credited on our account for our 2015 that we traded in for the 2016. Did some digging and found out insted of getting our refund that we were supposed to get for it, that the dealer waoted till it went toward the payoff THEN paid off the car within the hour so basically istead of getting our $3,500 and some change back from toyota financial, the dealer paid off $3,500 less than our contract stated so we were out that $3.5k as well ass the extra $980 that we paid the difference of the payoff out of our down payment. So guess what, ANOTHER 4HR DRIVE. They cut us a check for $2,800 and that was as good as it was going to get so we settled for it. FINALLY we can relax and enjoy our new truck right? Well that is when my cousin finally saw it and say hey why is the bed off centered? And then proceeded to point out everything else he found. Heart breaking. I called the salesmen and showed him the video instead of yet another 4hr drive and that was when they finally had enough with me and simply left it "i dont know what to tell ya man." i just have no more fight left in me. So now i am a happy meal shy of $52k for the truck of my dreams and it looks like it was slapped together in the dark :(

First off, I came here to say how much I like the Inferno color, but just read your saga.

WOW is all I can say.. I am so sorry to read this!

Can you explain how the truck is $14K more than what was quoted? If the price of the truck is in the big contract, they just can't change it like that....

As for the body alignment issues, keep pushing it. This is not right. Call Toyota Corporate and show them the video. Keep fighting man!! You paid good money for the truck, and I think you are being more than reasonable.

Long story short on the price difference, the total given to me on my contract "after taxes and APR" was actually NOT after APR. SO after the cost of the truck, $36,xxx and tax plus the 7.14% apr came out to 51,xxx even though on my contract it showed something in the high 37k to low 38k. I agree it is ILLEGAL! But when it came down to it, it was either i have the truck for the price it is or i dont. I would much rather have it than not so i just have to make the math make sense that 7.14% adds 12-14k more to the price of my truck (after taxes)

As for continuing the fight... JUST to put a cap on my luck. Up at my buddies ranch in the mud, caught a rut going maybe 5-7mph it pushed me directly into a fence post. Tried to steer awayl, tried to stop, no luck just slid like ice. Caved in my drivers side corner. No point in going to the dealer now. 250 miles and already needs a 3rd bumper. Yay for me

What? You're okay paying $52k for a $37k truck? :der: ... and 7.14% APR ... jeez dude, most people are getting like 1-2% ... That Toyota dealership must love you.

Sorry man, but you can't really count the finance charge as part of the cost of the truck. The finance charge is the cost for the bank to loan you the $, and not part of the cost of the truck. Just pay off early and you won't be paying that ridiculous interest charge.

I dont mean to tell you how to run your shit, but in the future you might consider not borrowing such sums at such usurious rates.

Yea mostly because i was one of the tools that baight the 15 2 weeks before they unvieled the 16 in detroit lol so i owed a ton on the 15 so that hurt my credit score.

I know i jave to factor the interest charge in and that is cool and all but when my contract shows that AFTER INTEREST it was one total then the letter saod oopsies we mean that total PLUS 14K, you start to ask questions.

In the end the money isnt even the issue... I have it, i wanted the truck, i am ok paying the money for it... It IS everything i ever could have asked for and so much more. Just with everything pilled up its a huge pile of sh*t. My intentions here was just to see if anyone else had similar issues with sloppy building really

you pay it off early, and you won't have to pay all that interest!

Anyways, you seem like a good dude, and i'm sorry to hear of your issues. You are taking it very well! I still think you need to bug the dealer.

Its sad that even though i have been patient i feel like I'M THE ONE that is out of line by just wanting things to be right. As for paying it off early, my bill is $512 and i am actually sending TFS $600 every two weeks for that very reason! The Bastids lol

Now just to brighten the mood, the inferno looks BADASS, the truck performs BADASS, and i have big plans with toytec lifts and lots of goodies to make her even more special. Looking forward to sticking around here on TW for a while.

Hey remember this.. you can't take money to the grave. Enjoy your truck man! There are a lot of 'financial experts' here on the forum, but there's a saying in the hood. Mind your business. No one can tell you how to spend your money.

Anyways, back on track, the more I look at inferno, the more I like it. I went in KNOWING I would buy super white, but then the Blazing blue caught my eye, and bought that instead. I have yet to see an inferno in person, but i'm willing to bet if I did, I would have bought one.

Is your signature right? Just trying to see what lift/tire size and setup you are running.

Yes it is. I had some rubbing but the alignment with the light racing UCA took most of it out. The rest went away when I took the front OEM mud guards off. I've taken a bunch of photos but they don't do it justice. It looks amazing in person. I've gotten tons of comments.

I wish I had the money for the lift/rims/tires all at the same time, but it looks like I am going to get new rims/tires. Then save up for a life when those tires are worn out and do the lift+bigger tires.

My bed cracks sometimes as well. Dealer/Toyota Customer Care said they never head of it and have to reproduce it to fix it. i think its linked to the cold but im still trying to reliably reproduce the issue.

Looks a little red in the pic... and most of my pics people think it's red until they see it in person... more orange than red... love the color
