I miss living in FL. I hate paying property taxes on my vehicles. My 01 Escape was $105 a year, my 12 Jetta was $340 a year and my 13 Tacoma is like $475. But I'm moving to a hopefully cheaper part of the state in a few weeks. Taxes are due by the end of this month.

That's ridiculous. I'd go crazy having to pay all that

I was pissed when I moved here. "You want me to pay taxes on my Escape that is paid off? Are y'all out of your damn minds?!"

Government always wants their share even though they don't work for It.

Idk how they get away with some of this stuff, taxes on everything just like when I go to the DMV and there are 30 different fees

Actual property taxes in FL are killer. Whenever I inherit my parents house, selling that thing immediately. I like Florida but I prefer more rural Florida. I am not a fan of cookie cutter subdivisions. I usually take the long drive home down 17 from Jacksonville all the way home. That's the old Florida I grew up with.

I grew up in a cookie cutter subdivision and at 15 I was dropping transmissions and rebuilding carburetors on the front lawn lol racked up fines and had to pay them to my parents then finally moved to our own 5 acres in Brooksville area and I like it a lot more. I honestly wish everyone had land and animals and all that and didn't want to develop everything but such is life I suppose

I grew up in what i call the concrete jungle. Little by little moving further away from people. I want my own privacy not a place where you open your garage door and have people slowing down just to look into your garage. I want to know my neighbour is there but prefernot to see them when I step out of my house. I would also love to have animals. I have been convincing my wife to let us look for a farm like property, she is slowly starting to come around. We already grow our own herbs, mangos, avocados, lemons and limes. She lives cooking with the fresh herbs so that's a plus. She is just nervous about the animals I think.

It's a great life, yeah it's a few hundred in feed and hay and always repairs and working the land but totally worth it. My parents have visited once in the last year because they said it smells funny and they don't like it lol but even if you don't like animals you can just have the property and your own little piece of paradise where you just do what you want without anyone telling you how to live. It's great and sounds like you've got a great wife and thing going right now

My grandpa had a farm in Pierson for 40 years. Was a bummer when we sold it and moved him into town due to health issues. One day I'll settle down and have a small farm. I despise grocery store eggs, I need some fresh off the farm. I'm spoiled.

Well it looks like I might have to take the car to Florida next week as my spare wheel doesn't look like it's going to be here in time. I really wanted my taco to be able to mingle with other tacos. Maybe I should just chance it and bring the tire and my smaller original spare. Any opinions

Whats the size difference of your current and your spare? Also do you have any of the factory wheels still with a tire on it? If so bring one of those

Tires on the truck are 285 70 17 I still have the original spare 265 70 16 rugged trail under the truck been too lazy to take it off. I have a new 285 st maxx that's the match to what's on the truck. When I ordered my wheels I didn't get a 5th. Thought I would get a cheap steel wheel for spare but can't find one.
