    Welcome

Several common trains of thought on this question:

    1. If you don't tow, wheel hard, drive hard and just use the truck for normal on road and moderate off road then stock rotors and pads will suffice.

    2. If you have 15" stock rims, then you can "upgrade" to aftermarket rotors and pads. EBC rotors are popular and green stuff pads as well. I've heard of stories of the green stuff pads wearing out very quickly.

    3. If you have 16" rims then you can upgrade to Tundra brakes. There's a lot of info on that conversion here. I believe the rough cost estimate (if everything is new) is approx $900. Others can correct me if I'm wrong on that.

Food for thought.... So when I bought my truck it was as basic as it comes. All the parts I got for the swap and conversion came off a TRD. So is my truck now a TRD..... Or not.:drevil:

Yep, I've had bad luck with EBC green stuff pads wearing quickly. Two tries were enough, not going back. The stopping power was excellent though. Just can't justify spending that much on pads that last 10K miles.

Currently in the process of gathering parts for a Tundra brake conversion and will be in under $400. Got reman calibers open box special with no core on Amazon, wheeler's brake lines, and probably going with Hawk pads, and Centric premium rotors. After my current experience with dimpled and slotted EBC sport rotors, I don't think those are the way to go if you spend as much time off road as I do.

For most people though, just go down to the parts store and pick up whatever halfway decent pads they have in stock.
