Well when you put it like that, seat warmers and cup holders do have a certain ring to them.

Hello San Diego BSers (in the San Diego BS thread):

I think I am just about ready to publish my new book. After working on the data it for three years and writing it the past year, and re-writing, etc., it is looking real sweet! Lot's of editing, proof-reading, small changes, etc.

Some of you know about my 2012 book I co-authored about all the California missions (California was the peninsula of Baja first, so both the Baja California missions and the upper [Alta] California missions) and how they really were founded... and not like what the schools teach or the people think: 'The Old Missions of Baja & Alta California, 1697-1834'

Many have known I write articles and draw maps about the old missions in Baja... I was once even turned into a cartoon...

    mailedD16_298badedbb4382f154c0918f209459db81555ea2.jpg

The twenty-seven missions in Baja have a history that is quite fascinating and complex and often misunderstood. My new book is a much greater detail history work than the brief history description of each mission in the 2012 book. Even if you never travel to Mexico, the story of how the California missions began and the eighteen missions BEFORE San Diego was established could be of interest.

Cameron Steele flew me by helicopter to their Trail of Missions tour to provide lectures at a couple of the Baja missions they visited, and that was shown on CBS Sports (I got about 30 seconds of air time, lol):

    TrailofMissions_bb7605cc3baaa6bb28b3172cea960811288bd045.jpg

The new book 'Baja California Land of Missions' is over 240 pages, has over 100 photographs and maps, a complete list of references, GPS of each mission site, a list of all the known missionaries who served at each mission, and much more.

It will be published in El Cajon in the next couple of weeks, and I will post more on how you can get one if interested, in the classified ads forum here... and on our OldMissions.com web page and Facebook page.

This is the book front, spine, and back cover, and you can see it has received some nice reviews by other history and Baja authors who read the manuscript...

Tacomas are the perfect mission exploration vehicles!

Thank you for your time... now back to more BS!

    Thank you Crom!
When it becomes available, I will (naturally) post it! It will be sold from our web site and mailed from El Cajon or at Discover Baja Travel Club in San Diego (they sell to non-members) which has the largest Baja book-store and soon it will be on Amazon, too.
