A dealer told me the wrong information!? Impossible! Good to hear they are showing up finally. I still don't know how they can say that sales were dismal when they are just now showing up.

:rofl:If you're going to wait until the wheels fall off, you might be in for a couple of decades... Assuming the v6 proves itself...

Glad you did the right choice

The diesel is being produced in VERY small quantities right now so it isn't really impacting the overall sales. Anyone that expected it to do so probably isn't very good at math.

One thing is for sure though, the diesel colorados and canyons are selling almost immediately. There's quite a long wait list as far as I understand it. As someone else stated on the last page, good luck finding one.

Sick of everyone trying for a diesel but they don't want to pony up the money and buy them. Not sure of the price of the Colorado diesel, but we just got a new Titan diesel in the other day and the thing is 55k. All my one buddy does is talk about buying a diesel. He goes back and forth from a super duty to a Ram with a Cummings, then is excited because he heard a rumor the f150 is getting one. Price any decent loaded up f150 and your already at 50k how much more will a diesel add to that? I don't see them doing that because it's gonna take away from some super duty sales and at 55k-60k who's gonna buying them?

Cost more to buy, run and maintain a diesel. Oh and just wait for oil prices to hike again in the future and watch what happens to the diesel market...

That makes sense. I would assume sales would be flat in anticipation of the diesel, not the other way around with this model. I expect it to negatively affect sales overall, even if people don't end up buying them. Most will want to try one out. If Toyota announced a diesel due in 2 months, fewer would be sold till many new buyers had a chance to at least try a new one out. of course, that's just me talking.

Diesel will be less maintenance tho, except maybe this new duramax in the Colorado with its God forsaken timing belt

That's ridiculous that a Titan diesel is 55k, my grandfather new f250 6.7 lariat was 62k and that's a hell of a lot more truck for the money

Doesn't cost more to maintain a diesel, keep up with oil changes and that should be one of the very few things you'll ever have to do. Gear driven timing, no spark plugs, head gaskets could be an issue on these new pos's, and that's about all I can think of... Unless you've gone through the duramax failed injector issue hahaha

It's been available overseas for quite some time in various other vehicles. The reliability has been very good overall thus far.

Still gonna cost a small fortune when someone has to have that belt replaced, and with the torque a diesel produces I don't trust a timing belt, I don't trust them in gas engines either. Gear driven is best (most big diesels like this) with chain being second best
