Mod problems... So the winch shifted backwards and into the AC line causing it to burst. No AC at the moment, but now I've found something to spend my tax refund on... Was able to move the winch forward and secure it, but a new line needs to go in... FML...

 Aww Crap! AC problems suck because hard to repair at home. Well, maybe you could install the new line at home but prob have to take it to get filled with refrigerant properly.

That's no good. Why did the winch shift? Was it not secured enough?

Squint0241....Hey brother..Love the truck...I have just the same great taste as you going with xd monsters and the aluminum bumper except I'm getting the warrior roof basket. But anyways to not wate ur time I have xd 18 with -12/ 4.5 back spacing with 285 65 bfko2 tires and I hit the body mount at half lock on the very edge of the tire. I see u had 275 70 can you tell me of any mods had to do or not do. I saw u tucked the tire up pretty well and with a good amount of turning of the wheel. I don't want 285 60 because I drop 650lbs difference of weight per tire so if ur work maybe it's the tread pattern or something. I have old man emu up from the there dakars out back which there is not issue and I'm looking to get the 886 spring from old man emu to add winch and pelfribuilt bumper. any info would be greatly accepted and appreciated

    Thanks...:)

I initially had the 275/65 series Duratracs, and yes...they rubbed on the fender edges on hard turns, but not the Cab Mount. When I went to the 275/70's they were a little taller and started hitting the CM which I ended up cutting. The 285' are a little wider as well, so you will have to do some fender trimming and possibly a CMC. If you go to a 70 series you would most def hit the CM on a compressed turn though. You'll have to see when you get them on. I had 600lb springs initially, but went bigger to the 700's to accommodate the extra weight from the winch and skids. I'm not sure of the spring load on the 886's. there is a lot of trial and error when modding and you'll have to see what works and make adjustments from there. It's part of the game...:D In the end you CAN get it to work though...:) Good choice on the Pelfreybilt...

Hey are you still running your factory battery? Im ready to get the winch as soon as my bumper comes in. Just not sure if I need to do a battery upgrade or not.

    like kh7nm said...
Yes... I got the odyssey extreme battery. My stock battery was at 2 years old and most of the guys I hang with were getting around 2 years and then the battery was going. I decided to preempt that just in case... :) besides... With the winch and lights I have I figured play it safe and get a better battery.

    Fixed :D
The winch was never set in the proper alignment when it was installed. It didn't shift or move. It was tight when I had to loosen it and slide it forward. It won't hit again.

The batt in my '13 is probably going to take a shit soon. I should look into one as well. One that'll fit in my PB batt holder.

    New toy...:D

Gents...this thing is legit. I haven't taken mine in the field yet, but I can say it gets damn cold and runs nearly silent. I've been playing with the thermostat settings trying to get the perfect temp for my beer...:p Not sure how accurate the gauge is on the display compared to the actual temp in the case, but I think it's +/- 5 or somewhere close. I plan to get a digital gauge to put in the fridge to try to get it nailed down on the actual temp. The build quality is extremely solid and I think the 50L is just the right size for a few day expedition.

I purchased the fridge cover from these guys...http://www.metaltech4x4.com/p-684-ironman-4x4-ice-cube-fridgefreezer-bag.aspx
They're solid and the Ironman 4x4 cover fits the Indel B like a glove. It's foil insulated and has a pouch on the side.

Some pics of the Arkpak 730 for field power. Running a 128ah, Group 31, AGM battery. Should have enough power for a few days to run the fridge and recharge any lights or peripheral items. Review to follow...

Nice new toy Rick. Should be perfect for those overnight camping trips. How about capacity? Is it big enough to hold everything?
