    So now that we established how well these work with the low beams and fogs and the results are consistent... has anybody done anything with their high beams yet??

    Amazon still shows that mine will get delivered next week, except they showed up today. Installed in my work parking lot. 7 minutes plus 4 to fish the polarity adapters that I dropped into the factory front skid plate... :der:

    Got mine in, went in fine, didn't realize there was a specific tab when inserting the bulb into the headlight fixture.

    One question, is the piece below circled required? Mine are working fine without, should I add them in?

    Thank you so much, glad to hear it! They went in super easy, I don't have tiny hands, the extender piece was required as the main bulb plug would not seat in in the tacomas plug, added the extender all worked great.

    The fact that these bulbs require a cooling fan (which can fail) scares me. A 2 year warranty isn't going to help much when they overheat and melt the enclosure.

    Right, which begs the question, what happens when the bulb fails? With a halogen it just burns out and you replace, with an LED will it cause damage to the housing due to overheating?

    LEDs do not produce the kind of heat that halogens do. The LEDs are just more temperature sensitive. No melting of the enclosure.

    If the fan fails the LED is more likely to fail in hotter ambient temps. The same heat that a halogen puts off is way hotter than an LED can handle. See my post #108. LEDs don't even get hot enough to melt snow on your headlight.
