What is this? AUX port...

I have an aftermarket head unit that came with truck what can this be used for?

 

1/8" jack for ipod/iphone.

 

Assuming it was hooked up to the aftermarket head unit...looks like the factory aux plug.

 

Can this be re-wired for a cig port for power?

 

Is there a USB port behind the cover?

 

No just a whole like a ear phone jack or iPod would plug into

 

In that case you can get a plug on Amazon by mictuning that will fit and has two USB plugs for charging. Just wire it to the 12 volt plug to the right of it.

 

You can pretty much put power, in any form (usb, cig lighter style, etc), where ever you would like it.
Did you do you heated seats?

 

I'm interested in doing this and have looked on Amazon for Mictuning. I cant seem to find one for the lower center dash. They only seem to be for the left of the steering wheel on the dash. Any links to ones that would fit the lower center console??

 

Did you install the heated seat button in the blanks? Thinking of doing the same thing, but I need to pick up the lower panel first for the extra blanks.

 

I'll see what I can find, pretty sure I saw one somewhere. I know they have a single USB with voltmeter that will fit. Needs to be a 23mm x 33mm I believe.

EDIT* Found it, just wasn't a mictuning brand.

How would one get to this port do you have to take apart the dash? Which piece has to come off? And is it a easy wire install?

 

That's where the fun comes in....

EVERYTHING has to be taken apart to get to this lower piece - starting with the center armrest console. There's a thread on here with photo's showing each step.
