I know that I mentioned this mod in the seat cover post a little earlier, but I thought that it should be revisited and stand alone.

If you're a short ass like me (5'8"), this greatly improves your line of site with the low TRD Sport seats.

Simply go to the hardware store and get yourself:

2 of M10 x 1.25 x 50mm bolts (17mm heads) note: shoulder bolts would be preferred, but they didn't have any.
    2 of 1/2 x 5/8" x 1" steel spacers
    4 washers

I removed the rear seat bolts (14mm socket), lifted the seat by hand, placed washers on the floor over the bolt holes, then the steel spacers, lowered the seat onto the spacers, and inserted the bolts/washers.

That and the ImMrYo mirror relocation bracket really improves lines of sight as it raises your butt up. And no, you don't slide forward off the seat. The new seating position has more of a truck feel. My wife didn't want her side done, as she likes sitting back and enjoying the ride.

    seat_lift_zpstzawsqre_9209f62e186b590584c33b3c4db3ab80d051408d.jpg

Replace the pop off plastic trim and one can barely tell that the seat has been raised.

Love the build. Your truck looks a lot like mine, minus a shell.

Well I've been busy collecting a pile of stuff for my next project:

    Lighting:
(collected the following and working on it)
tacomapros RTMR fuse panel with 80 amp breaker
iggy 6 switch panel and switchbacks
50" LED OSRAM 4D 480w combo radius light bar / Relentless Mounts
32" LED 180w bar for lower grille stealth install / Apex stealth mounts
8.8" LED 30w flood for BackRack
4" LED 18w flush pods x 2 for rear bumper install
Rigid Ind. fog light brackets #46509

    Still need:
    Deutsch plugs
    Shielded wiring
2 small LED 20w Flood bars to replace fogs (ordered: on their way)

    Here's what I calculate:
    480w+180w+30w+36w+40w = 766w/12 = 63.83 amps total draw

Of course I won't be running all the lights at once, but I think that I'm going to upgrade my alternator, wiring, and battery. I have a stock 140 amp alternator and whatever battery the truck came with. My concern is what gauge wiring should I run from an upgraded alternator (200 or 250 amp) to a 31 series battery?

I can always get this info from the alternator shop, but any feedback would be appreciated from experienced bros.

If it's worth anything. I'm running a grp 31 marine battery that powers a winch, 4 rigid dualy's, a 22" light bar, 2 bed lights, rock lights(4 led pods and going to add at least 3 more), and my alternator is still pumping out 14.1 volts on startup. Even when running everything all at once (winch not included) I'm at 13 volts.

I was considering an upgraded alternator but the system isn't being constantly overloaded as the accessories are not always on. Also when they are on its not that drastic of a draw (unless the winch is going).

If you do get an upgraded alternator I would run 0 to 1/0 gauge. Go to a welding supply store and make your own cables. I got a crimper for $50 on Amazon and 50ft of 1/0 for $150. Not too shabby considering getting them made would have been more. Plus I had more cable to make booster cables (15ft cables) after my winch project was done.

    Thanks for the info, man!

So, you have the original 140amp alternator to a 31 series battery with no probs?

(I'd be probably running my lights like you.)

More money for other mods!!

To be honest Im not sure of the actual alternator size. It's the smaller one since I don't have the towing package. Like I said though I haven't had any issues and I don't see any coming. When the alternator eventually craps out I'll upgrade but even in the winter the truck turns over and is immediately at 14.1 volts. So I don't see that occurring aren't time.

If you do get a 31 battery go with a marine if you can. Been super happy with mine. Accidentally left the lights on for a couple hours and the battery was fine. Regardless the 31m is pretty close to running a dual battery setup except with the ability to boost the house battery with the auxiliary.

Should be mentioned that I haven't done too much winching but have run the lights a lot and haven't had any issues thus far. Even run all the lights with the truck off for a at least 5 minutes and no issues.

I have a few 31's kicking around, as I bass fish with a trolling motor all the time. I'll build a mount/box and install one in the truck.

Perfect! Moooaaa monnneeeeeeeeee for other mods!

    Thanks, man!

Yup, they're on the work bench. LOL

I'll use them somewhere, maybe on my tractor bucket for slings.
